    - Movie maker versus Nero I have nothing but problems with MM and none at all with Nero. The drama is that unless you have a disc with sp2 or download the whole thing you cant reinstall MM to rectify any errors. Think I'll just stick to Nero instead, Jeff Tag: Move Maker won't start Tag: 51137

    - Font Distortion Everytime I use any type of font, when I preview it or burn it to DVD the fonts are all distorted and pixilated! But when I view it after I save it to my computer and view it in Windows Media Player it looks fine! How do I rectify this? Every font in my font library does this!     - Photostory3/MM2 does not play. I have emailed a Photostory3 to a friend. The file would open, but not play. The error message indicated that it needed a codec to operate.I then rendered it to MM2 and it played properly. The specifications for his PC are: Dell Dimension DIM2400 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU2.40GHz 2.39GHz, 256MB of RAM. Windows XP. (My PS3 has played well for all other recipients.)     - Files Not Importing, Projects Nor Opening For some inexplicable reason, my files are not importing and my projects will not open. Only WMV file will import...despite setting content options for default. The windows for Import and Open Project just flash, but no files import or download into MovieMaker.     - movie is freezing up during playback Hi There, I'm having a problem with playback after rendering the movie. The video portion stalls however, the audio still plays and will play all the way through to the end of the movie. I have gone back into the movie project and if I move the picture frame that the video hangs up on and rerender the movie the movie will then play through but, stall on a different frame. I have tried different file sizes and types of movie styles to save the movie in and it continues to happen on a different frame each time. Also it if you replay the movies each time it will freeze on the same frame as it did the first time so it seems to be something to do with the picture or the transition effect.     - Problems Importing Some Files I have problems importing wmv. files to the Movie Maker Software. I don't understand what the problem is because it imported another file rather quickly but there is this one file that will import all the way up to 98% and stop...then movie maker freezes. I have to do a "manual" exit and of course the work is not saved. Another file would not even upload to 10% and then it hangs. How can this issue be resolved?! I'm kind of running out of time here.     - need help now!! hi everyone- I just made a video as part of my AP English final, and it all worked really well. I saved it to a CD and thought it was done, but when i watched the CD version of the movie (just the movie, not the editor file) there were scenes at the beginning with no video: just the sound and naration.     - First Time, Whatcha Think? I've been wanting to use MM2 for more than editing out commercials, but I don't have any videos to edit and create with. So I decided to come up with something goofy for my nephew and give me some video to edit.     - Does Windows Media Player play DVDs or .avi?? I was wondering what brand media Player can my family use to see on their PC, movies I will send to them ?? I assume they will use a DVD player for the TV. I am using Windows Movie Maker to collect the clips then using Nero to convert to DVD keeping the .avi format.     - Since auto update installed CD Max, files won't save ... :>( MM 2.0.3312.0 Windows XP Pro 2002, SP2 Pentium 4 / 3-GHz 512 MB RAM 40-GB available HDD I've used MM for some time, on files up to 100 MB, without problems, until Windows auto update installed the CD Max patch. Since then, any file over 5 MB goes into an infinite wait when saving to computer. The panel displays a hard drive file definition to save into, but a top line message says, e.g., ... preparing to save file to CD ROM - 9743286 estimated mins to save. I uninstalled the CD MAX application in Control Panel / Add-Remove ..., which completed normally per messages. After a reboot, the CD-Max logo still appeared in the Save Movie panel, and the preceding CD-RoM save message still appears in MM. Any assistance appreciated. I'm in the process of converting family movies for our children, and want to finish before the family reunion in August. If MM can't be fixed in a timely manner, what other commercial software package would do the trick, to enable me to finish. I'm AV-challenged, so simple apps are good ... :>) Thanks ...     - Capturing Camera tapes I am capturing tapes from my Sony Digital 8 camcorder on to my PC, but notice that I have two choices. Top capture them as .avi or wmv files. I intend to edit this footage and save as avi and burn on to DVD's with Nero. I just updated Windows XP to SP2 and now Movie Maker won't start. It just gives a window saying
"unspecified error" Is there a way to reintall it without reinstalling all of SP2?
