Making a WMV movie

I am trying to make WMV movies from my captured video. I have been doing it
for years but then one day it just stopped, I have 2 programs I like to use,
one is Windows Movie Maker, and the next is Pinnacle 9 both have worked well
for me.
When I edit then try to create it looks like it wants to start but it wont.
With windows it goes to the finish button, and with Pinnacle it goes back to
the start button.
My computer has 49gigs of free space on, and it is 112 gig HD. I have tryed
to do the syst restore twice, I have unistalled and renstalled the software,
It will let me make AVI's and MPEGS just not WMV's

Try updating directx, install windwos media encoder. See if either helps.
