    - Voice over? Hi, is there any way to voice over a speech/music/sound from an existing video clip which continues into the 2nd video clip. For example, i have a video whereby i have a video of a person singing and as he/she sings the song from that clip can continue on into various movie clips just like a karaoke.     - Windows Media Maker Crashes - Help Needed I have used Windows movie maker, on this computer about a year ago and it was OK I have now bought a new Camera ( Fuji s5700) and Microsoft have updated my software automatically to WMM V2.0 Now windows MM2 will load videos into the story line but often crashes for no reason ( that is it shuts off and I get returned to my desktop - it does not hang) It mostly happens when I try to add a still image into the project - though I am sure it does it at random also I am not trying to load huge files most are only a couple of minutes maximum and there are about 4 in the project.     - Nothing works! Hi. I am so frustrated. I spent 700.00 on a camera ( with extra battery pack, case ect...) and I can not make a movie. I was so excited to discover that my WXP had MM but then I find out it won't accept my mpg2 movies. Papajohn (and others ) post that I need to download a converter and convert them to avi. files. I did that. Then I need to download a Panasonic codec something or other, I did that. Now I have managed to turn one film into an avi file,( yeah!) but MM2( I upgraded to MM2 thinking that might help) will not accept that either. says I don't have the codec. In control panel I see that the new codec is up and running.. sooo.... Help me please! I really do want my new expensive toy but I am not enjoying it ! Thank you to whoever helps me with this.     - No Sound I'm creating a video and I've imported 2 songs. One works fine but the other one doesn't make a sound! I right clicked on it, clicked on Play clip and it still won't play. I checked it out in Windows Media Player and it works fine. When I went back, the other song wouldn't play so I deleted them both and imported them again. The one now will play but the one I had problems with to begin with, still doesn't have sound. I've restarted my computer 2 or 3 times and still can't get the song to play in WMM. Both files are mp3. I could swear a chart I saw from Microsoft showed MM under Premium supporting AVCHD. Now I cannot get MovieMkr to read AVCHD files...any ideas?     - Sony video files I find it impossible to convert my video film so that I can edit it with Movie Maker. My camera is a Sony handycam DCR-SR35E. The files appear to be .mpg.     - On opening Movie maker Crashes I'm using an XP Pro and have installed IE7 - and also have installed SP2 sometime ago. All other programs seem to be running okay. Here are identifiable symptoms: 1) There is a file in the in the "collections" screen (MOV00053) 2) The "Movie Maker has encountered a problem etc. and will now close down" 3) When I go into MM ( Programs/MM/NUI/0409) I see moviemk.chm - however it has a ? mark to the left of the words on top of the icom.     - Error Opening Movie Maker Project (Redirected) I accidentally posted this in the wrong group, but someone kindly informed me of my mistake. I'm using Windows Movie Maker with XP and no, no IE7. Now, when creating my video there were no issues really. I saved it a couple times, but I didn't actually have to open it again during its creation because I kept WMM running the whole time I was making it. After it was completed I tried to save it as a movie file. I've done this plenty of times with no issue, but the progress bar stuck at 89% and then the estimated time remaining went up. (65 seconds, then 1 minute, then 4 minutes) I canceled and then attempted to save again, but encountered the same issue. I restarted my computer and then when I tried to open the project I was informed that WMM had enountered an error and needed to close, so sorry. It's very important that I rescue this file, because it was a creative project and there is basically no way I could redo it. Especially because when I tried to do that, create another version of it, I had the same error when trying to open THAT saved file.     - After unchecking codecs, MM won't start - says it can't find audio I have XP with SP2. MM was starting to crash on me more and more, especially after adding audio. I followed the advice on papajohn.org to uncheck some codecs in the MM options. Then crashes seemed less frequent, but after the next reboot MM won't start - it says "Windows movie maker cannot be used because the required audio hardware cannot be found on your computer." I'm pretty sure I didn't remove any codecs specific to my sound card (Realtek AC'97), but I uninstalled the sound card drivers, downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled them anyway. No change. I've searched the web and found others having this message, but not because of simply unchecking codecs. How do I recover?     - Restore crashed Movie File I've recorded about 2 hours a movie by a digital cam with Microsoft Movie Maker. When I finished the record Movie Maker starts to create a wmv movie. While creating the movie the Movie Maker crashed. The size of the created movie is 202 MB but not finished. With VLC-Player I can view the first part of the movie but not all. At my hard disc I found two files "WMTF.tmp" and "WMT10.tmp". My guess is that Movie Maker has cashed the record in this file. Can I restore the movie with these two files?     - Moving MM to laptop problem 1. I created a movie with Movie Maker 2 on my home computer. I copy the parent and child folders which contain my pictures and WMVs used in the movie to my laptop.     - PS3 to MM2 - problems burning I've wasted 32 DVD-R trying to figure this out. I made an animated PS3 WMV and saved under a few profiles. DVD-NTSC has the best end results. After importing this file into MM2 to add to my existing movie then save as a DVD-NTSC movie, some of the PS3 transitions jitter, but I can live with them. My main problem is trying to burn to a DVD-R. The quality is terrible. I am using Nero Essentials 7 with a Sony burner. I have tried many setting variations In PS3, MM2 and Nero but can't produce a quality finished movie. I have tried using the generic CODEC's in PS3 and MM2 as well as installing FFDshow using appropriate WMV CODEC's, which all fail. I have also tried Windows Encoder on the MM2 WMV. My movie plays fine (acceptable) in power point which I will present to an audience later this week and want to burn a bunch of DVDs to hand out. I just can't make it happen. I could use help please.     - File compatibility--possible conversion I used Pinnacle's Instant DVD recorder (has Dazzle as the analog converter) to convert lots of parts of different VHS tapes (analog) to digital video files onto DVD discs which were then copied to the PC.     - Question -- I have XP with SP2 with all downloads up to date. Recently when I try to use the "Capture" feature in Movie Maker I get an error message. The first time when I clicked "More information" I was told to download a Windows program that disabled Dr. Watson, but that did nothing. I have several times totally reformatted my hard disk and used a disk that came with my Emachine to restore the computer to as when I brought it from the store. Did not help. it by reading any articles or books. Does anyone know of any organisations

If the Kalamazoo, Michigan area is close enough, I'd be glad to conduct one.
I teach it at my local library but theere's no scheduled sessions at the
moment.

For a fee + travel expenses, I could go there.... depending on place and

Sometimes reading is how something is learned. Has she tried You Tube?
I have seen some videos that while not professional, do give the viewer a
good idea of how Movie Maker works. Just search for Movie Maker at
you tube dot com.
