    - Saving Movie Maker file to Cd Can anybody please help ? I'm new to movie making, but I am not able to to burn any files to disk. I keep getting an unknown error message when trying to save the file. I can only save files to my computer, but need them to burn to disk. I have Windows Meda Player version 11 but still these will not burn. I have changed disk after disk but still it will not save. Do I need new aquipment, or am I just thick ?     - Vista Movie Maker Crashes Rendering (EVERYTIME) HELP Okay, I'm ready to toss this program even though I love using it. I can make the nicest videos in a the shortest amount of time with Windows Movie Maker. It's all I ever really needed. Now I've been trying to use the Vista Version on my full Home Premium version on a computer wtih 2gb of RAM a GeForce 6800 video card and a 3.2 Athlon 64 rig. I can edit the video (WMV's) without any problems as it's stable as rock, but as soon as I go to render it, the video which is only 3 and half minutes, it crashes within seconds. I've heard that Nero is a fault, I've unistalled that, I've disabled the capatibility codecs in the program to no avail. The weird thing is when I just drop my clips in there without any transition or music or cutting all together it will render it. But if I drag and drop clips have fades and music, it chokes. What can I do? I've tried removing the music and leaving everything else...didn't work, I tried removing all transitions, it didn't work. Is there a solution or something else to try? PLEASE!     - Thanks...next problem.. Found that my dvd player will play some dvd-r disc. But when I went back tried to record my movie thru DVD Creation (Sonic Solutions) a window opens stating "Movie Maker cannot create DVD because an error occurred". No explanation of this "error".     - Can't Make Movie When I "Drag and Drop" video clips into the Movie Maker and then play those clips (AVI's), after about 5 clips (2 minutes), a window comes up and tells me there is a problem and that Movie Maker must shut down and then asks if I want to send an error report, which I do.     - What am I doing wrong? If anything.... I recently finished a "movie" complete with music track. Bravo. Trouble is the cd that I copied to will only play on my pc (Windows XP program) not in my dvd player that I use in the living room. Do I need to record on a different type of cd to resolve this or is it the setting that I choose when I copied it? Could it be the dvd is not set up for that.     - how to edit a dvd that was created by converting a vhs tape I just converted a vhs tape of home movies to dvd with a dvd/vhs player/recorder. Now I want to edit it in movie maker.     - Timeline times don't match times shown on cursor or preview window Movie maker 2. New Dual processor PC, 1 Gb ram. Watching an imported video in the preview window is fine but if I skip forward, the playback picture will pause at the point I've skipped to, the video is still running as the time shows until it "catches up" and then the motion on screen continues as normal. This time delay is not noticable for the first 10-15 minutes into the movie but after that it it stops for a few seconds and reaches 1/2 to 2 minutes depending on how far into the movie it is. It makes editing almost impossible. Even with no imported movie the timeline does not match the cursor time i.e. 10 mins on timeline is 12 mins on cursor, 1 hour shows as 1hr 12 mins on cursor.     - Imported audio plays to a certain point, then quits I imported a song from my music library and am using it as background to my video (I have muted the video sound). However, 25 seconds into the video, it just stops playing right where I have a title transition and the video keeps going.     - Too much blank area at end of video I just put together a "movie" that has video/audio/pictures all mixed in together. I have just the way I want it and I burned it to a DVD. The problem I noticed when I played the DVD is that there was a bunch of blank video at the end. I looked at the original video project and noticed there was, indeed, a large section of the end nothing but blank area. The last piece in on the storyboard was a jpg. I figured I had inadvertently allowed that last jpg to have too long of a duration. But that wasn't the problem. Even when I completely delete the jpg, the blank area remains. The movie is actually a little over 6 minutes in length, but the final product is over 8 minutes.     - Cannot save movie I am getting a message as follows: WMM cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk place available and then try again. The first time I saved this and put on DVD, no problems, I got this message a couple of weeks ago and deleted my whole storyboard and started over just to get the same message. The only thing I know that is different is I have more music in my movie now. I still don't have all the pictures I need for final, but if I don't get them, am going to wrap this up before May.     - How can I make a movie from two camcorders? Hello, A while back I read an article in maximum pc about making a movie using two camcorders covering the same event, like a wedding, but I can't seem to find the issue. I have a wedding reception with two recordings, one from a camcorder mounted on a tripod which never moved, the other carried around the room during the same time. What I want to do is combine the two using the audio from the tripod cam but cutting away to different parts of the room making it look more professional.     - HELP!! No Picture only sound following splitting clip into two?? Hello Ive been using a lipstick camera that records to a hard disk recorder. This produces Avi file that wouldnt initially play on Windows Media Player. WMP advised me I was missing a codec and to download DivX MPEG-4 (DX50). I have downloded the mentioned Codec and the file plays fine in WMP and in Windows Movie Maker. After if i use the split function in Windows Movie Maker then the second clip from the split file has only the audio playing with no visual playback. It seems as if the codec is only attached the beginning of a file and when you split the clip the codec doesnt travel across to the new clip.     - why doesn't Windows Movie Maker like .mpg files? I have a video camera that the video from it gets imported as .mpg files, and Windows Movie Maker doesn't seem to like them. On my computer I get the audio but no video, and on other computers I get a message about a missing codec. My timeline has the Hiccups.
I just purchased a new camcord. Sony SR80D.
Files are MPG. I convert them to AVI.
I went through my computer to make everything is working, and it is.
I think it is in the convertion.
Any suggestions?

WHat sort of avi did you convert them to?
I suspect divx/xvid as most convertors use these files. Convert it to wmv
instead.
