    - too many programs similar, how to do..... I have used WMP2 to more or less create slide show with transitions etc. It only has maybe 15 slides, no audio yet, not been burned to CD after saving to HD... I now find that it CANT be be read/seen on a CD (or DVD?) standalone machine used with TV, hence cant show this thing on a TV? NOW I have fine, photos, scans etc, and text for these, but they are isolated to the computer world at present? BUT I can take said photos, add captions, make text enhanced with graphics on another program and save as a file, hence having a graphic text regarding each or many photos.... WHERE is the program that will do this simple task and simply overwrite music? Even as a 'second track' (poor term..) . IMHO we have a huge waste of time dealing with the R&D of not only WMM but the others, then finding out our efforts are only for the computer world...... I invested in a 42" plasma TV, yet I cant use it, nor can Aunt Bess or Cousin Al, read and use my family history enhanced photo journal.... Color me frustrated...... Can I include both formats on the same DVD in separate chapters to let the viewer pick which format is best for their home TV?     - Audio drop out when rendering back to DV cam (only) Having completed movie, when sending back to DV camera (via firewire) audio occasionally drops out (goes silent) for a fraction of a second. Particularly noticable if using an over dubbed music audio track and often the drop out is the overlay track not the audio with the video, thus I assume the Camera is responding OK. (No problems when saving to other file format eg video CD). Does not seem to be related to how hard the PC is working, ie lots of transitions cross fades or few and having checked processor use, seems like it never gets above 47% use during render. Also does not always happen in the same place every time but more often than not; on occasion it does not drop out but buzzes like a hung stopped note for a fraction of a sec Tends to happen two or three times within the first minute then is OK for the rest of the movie. (Not running fat 32 and have turned off quite a lot of background running progs eg internet firewall Spybot etc.) PC spec is 2.6 Althlon, 1G of RAM, 200G HD useable, movie lengths around 8 mins!     - Date and time (again) Hello. I asked about how to get time and date with my filmclips yesterday and got some good tips (thanks to PapaJohn and Graham Hughes). None of them to my satisfaction though. The problem: To get time and date showing in the lower right corner (or someplace else, of course...) of my home movies. The help i got: 1) To make my camcorder to embed the info so it would turn up automaticly. I didn't manage that. 2) To download software to fix my problem. Downloaded DVDate. That program only work with .avi-files. .avi-files are big! Since i don't have room for my home movies in .avi-format, this solution didn't work for me either. My question: Does anybody know how i can get time and date showing on a .wmv-file? Tilda P.S.     - Burning .mswmm file to DVD I have created a movie with pictures, music, and banners in Movie Maker 5.1. The file extension it is saved under is ".mswmm". However, I can't burn it to CD or DVD. When I try to burn it to CD it will burn only about half of the pictures, some of the banners, and all the music. When I try to pull the movie into Nero Vision to burn a DVD I get the error message of "unexpected file format".     - Does JVC GR-D72US Have "Passthrough" Function? My local "Costco" store has this camcorder on sale for $199. I'm looking at it for the purpose of digitizing select tapes from my VHS library. The camera has both s-video and RCA analog inputs, and the manual discusses recording from the inputs to DV tape, but I don't want to go through a two-step process (record to tape, then capture tape to computer) and double the time required for capture.     - Storyboard to Movie and fill up the Storyboard with lots of clips. I think the point is to put clips into the Storyboard and when you are happy with the sequence to make a movie from the storyboard. I tried that and it seemed to duplicate the movie I started with. I deleted all the clips on the pane and the "Make Automovie" is grayed. The help seems to say make movies from the selections on the pane or from collections. I have lots of those.     - Colors too intense? Incorrect Gamma? (and sound issue) I am a newbie to WMM2, but an advanced digital photographer who understands ICC color profiles, etc. quite well. I am using a fully color managed environment, including monitor profile. Here is my problem: I am making a movie out of still photos. These were shot in either sRGB or AdobeRGB color space, converted to sRGB (with an sRGB working space) in Photoshop, and either "saved for web" from PS with no profile, or saved with the sRGB profile assigned. They look great in non-color managed programs such as Irfanview, or a web browser. So far so good. In WMM2 they look great. The movie plays perfectly in WMM2 and colors are great. When I save the movie on my desktop and play it on my computer the colors are way too intense - people are too red, and all colors are too intense. It is the same in Windows Media and a Creative Player (haven't tried anything else). The video settings are default in WMP. If I increase brightness and contrast they look like I expect them. I have tried them on another computer and they look like they should. However, I am planning on sending them out to dozens of people, and I am afraid they will look horrible on a percentage of the computers. I have searched and searched for any color management in either WMM2 or WMP, or some setting. I am saving these movies under optimized settings, not as compressed. The photo files are 600 X 400 pixels. On another issue - on my work laptop the movie looks good, but the WMA soundtrack is halting throughout. Help, please. Tag: Handycam DCR-DVD103 Tag: 43371

My problem if I am using window movie maker after playing 7 or 8 clip it's just stop the audio and vedio but the status bar in the player keep moving forward its seems indicating that its playing but can't send any video and audio anymore! any idea? please help me ...thanks a lot. I have never been able to get a DVD to autoplay immediately I load it into the drive as I have not been able to see my DVD player (Power DVD) in the list of available software.     - no video playing avi-files in MM 2.1 First excuse my English, I'm Dutch. Some time ago suddenly avi-movies (made with Fujitsu en Canon digital camera's) wouldn't play in Windows Mediaplayer (version 10), only audio but no video. After downloading and trying lots of codec-packs it worked again. The problem is that in Windows Moviemaker the problem STILL exists, ONLY AUDIO but NO VIDEO. I can remember that some time ago eveything worked well, there must have been gone something wrong since then. The screen remains black while you hear the sound being played.     - unknow error when capturing in movie maker I have a canon camcorder ZR400, when conneting the camcorder with my pc with fire wire, movie maker recognize the zr400, I can rewind the tape, but when it go to capture video, an window error come up " unknown error". It worked at least part way through the capture wizard the first time but now it pops up this error immediately every time. What has not worked is closing and restarting WMM, rebooting, turning off the power to the Sony DCR-VX2100 NTSC for a dozen seconds, switching to a different camera (Sony DCR-PC120 BT). It seems obvious to me that there is some state information on the disc that is causing WMM to fail. Next steps: trying a different cable and then uninstalling/reinstalling WMM.     - Stumped by DVD-burning problem New to all this, I was very pleased with myself when I used Windows Movie Maker to make a 2 hr. film of video downloaded from my digital camcorder. Film saved as .wmv, and runs fine on computer. But then I tried to burn DVD with SONY burner and NERO. It would not allow it. I do not understand why, and SONY was not helpful. At the project.wmv stage, is it possible to save the movie in another format? Is there another make of external burner/software that allows the .wmv format?     - DV AVI files have no sound! Hi, I am using XP SP2 and MM2.1 I am capturing from my camera thru' firewire in DV AVI format (I want to keep the quality as high as possible). Once I have edited my movie, I generate it. I would LIKE to use DV AVI format again so that I can keep the quality high & burn a DVD to show my movies through a standard DVD player. Despite all my efforts, the DV AVI files play in Media Player without sound (it requests a codec and fails to get it). It plays fine in Movie Maker but without sound in anything else. I can get round the issue by making the movies in .wmv format, but the quality isn't as high.     - SP2 does not install MM2.1 I've been updating my XP system all along and the MS auto-update has scanned my system and done its thing. However, when trying to use MM, I find that it's still v2.0. Additionally, this version immediately gives me an error (that's all it says "ERROR") and then it hangs. I have Handycam DCR-DVD103 camera. I download the recored MPEG from the
camera to the hard drive (HD) through the USB prt using the picture package
software that came with camera. Then, I import video from the HD.
The problem arise after editing 5-7 clips where the prgram stop responding
or shut down spontanouesly. Also if i do noe editing at all and try to save
30 minute movie, it takes very long times 8-9 hours and also the program
close befor it complete the mission.
I am using P4 PC with 512MB RAM and XP media center edition.
I am suspecting something in relation to Dolby sound system
Any suggestion?
