If you are doing it with just one frame, you could use the snapshot feature
of MM2 to create a JPG still image file, and also split the clip at that
point (doing it in the collection gets you a higher quality still picture
than doing it on the timeline).
If you want to do it with lots of frames, then it gets a bit more
complicated. You can save the clip as a DV-AVI one, convert it to type 2 if
needed, and then use a utility that saves the individual frames from a
video. The reassemble the worked-on pictures. The Editing > Reverse Effect
page of www.papajohn.org covers the process, but in your case you would be
putting the still pix back in normal order rather than reverse.
