    - I lose video when I add an audio/music track. I had a VCR tape of a movie (not a commercial movie). I used Honestechâ??s VCR to DVD 3.0 Deluxe to convert it to an .mpg file. The volume was too low so I brought it into Windows moviemaker (6.0) and dragged the file to the audio track and saved a copy as the audio file. I opened the new audio file in WavePad and enhanced the volume. I then opened Windows Moviemaker and dragged the initial .mpg file onto the video track (which split into video/audio). I turned the volume down to nothing and muted it on the movieâ??s audio track. I then dragged my enhanced audio track to the Audio/Music track and burned a DVD. When I play the DVD all I get is good audio â?? no video. If I make a DVD of the initial .mpg file with the inadequate volume I do get both the audio and the video.     - Imported video looses quality when copied to Timeline ? Please Help me ? Hi I am creating a 10min movie in windows movie maker, it is combination of video clips, pics music and flash. I exported some animation form flash as a .avi file, When I import this into Movie Maker, it works fine, then I play it and it is cristal clear etc. But as soon as I move it town to the Timeline and play it from there it is all very blurry and hard to see. I have tried everything and cant fix this, when I convert and burn onto dvd and play at home everythign is perfect except this animation clip ?     - I am using Vista Business & trying too make a dvd using movie make I'm new to this site, so please be patient with me. I have made a movie using photos, and added music looks great, however when it came to publish this movie, it would not allow to burn on dvd, it only let me burn on recordable cd, why ?? so I did burn on a disk (dvd-r) however my dvd player would not recognize it. is it because i'm running vista business,??? Would it be possible to add on dvd maker, or is it the same as movie maker ( bit confused). Found movie maker very easy to use apart from this problem. Would I have to upgrade my vista to Ultimate...     - Animated images in video Okay, tell me if anyone knows how to make this work... So I wanted to put some animated pictures in a video, like the ones you see on myspace (the motion icons, the glitter effects) but it keeps giving me an error message. I think it's because it's a GIF file so it doesn't work with Windows Movie Maker. The only other option of saving for an animated picture is a BMP file which doesn't allow the picture to be animated after it's saved like that.     - Movie maker screws up my audio clips...please help!!! I am trying to create videos to upload to YouTube, but something happened to Windows Movie Maker. I have created several videos recently without any problems, but something seems to have happened to Windows Movie Maker. Every song or audio clip I import shows an incorrect duration. For example, a 4:19 long song shows up as 7:18. This happens with every single clip I import. I would like to reinstall the program, but I'm having trouble. It is not an option to uninstall in Add/Remove programs, nor is it in Add/Remove Windows Components. Furthermore, I cannot seem to find a download for it on Microsoft's website.     - Photo Story 3 will not convert after doing extensive research online trying to find a solution, I am still stuck battleing this issue that should have been fixed forever ago. PapaJohn's Guide to YouTube http://tinyurl.com/2eh3d3 only worked once for me. When I go back to create another video, YouTube gives me the message saying "unable to convert". I dont want to be forced to use Windows Movie Maker because of the annoying hang ups. Can anyone shed any light on this subject for me?     - Intentionally Blurring a Clip I would like to Slow Down and Blur a clip. I want to shoot my two nephews walking toward me and have the clip blurred to the point that you cant make out what it is and then cut away to stills then come back to the shot as it comes into focus. Can that be done, or does that have to be done all in the camera? I think the last part will have to be done in the camera but that a clip that is blurry to out of focus can be done in WMM.     - Music files? Every time I import some music files, for some odd reason, the time says it's about 7:30 minutes long? I play it in windows media, and it says 3:58 minutes(correct time). Also, if I'm in the middle of making a video, and I want to see a certain part, the music starts off somewhere else. For example, I'm using the song Far Away, and it would play the chorus where the verse should be. There isn't any corruptions with the music files, or any errors either.     - Blurry pictures Hello. My pictures are showing up really blurry when I preview the photo slideshow I made in Movie Maker. I read that this is normal but when you show on the tv it will not be blurry. Here is my issue: I want to show the slideshow on the tv, but I am not quite sure what the best way t is to get it to the tv. Can I just save it as a movie file and then get some kind of cord to hook it up to the tv? If this is the case, then what is the best way to save it? What kind of cord do I need? Will the pictures be blurry? Or do I need to get the slideshow on a dvd? I do not have dvd burner but my friend does.     - Movie Maker Crashes after 7 items placed in story line I have cured the problem ... after about 30 hours of reading up and trying various suggestions Thanks to those that replied and helped me finally establish a solution For the archives, and to help others here is an out line of what I found out. A) This is a problem that has been recorded several times before ( see Dean Rowe blog) some people have experienced crashing after 6 items are put on the story board and some after the seventh but it is always the same fixed number of items when the crash occurs B) The problem seems to be that the update files Wmm2ae.dll through to Wmm2res.dll are up loaded via Microsoft automatic update BUT the main programe moviemk.exe is not ( has not been ) updated and is vers 2.0 instead of ver 2.1 c) uploading xp sp2 or running Microsoft up dates DID NOT cure it d) this is how I FOUNDthe problem make a restore point in c:\program Files\Movie maker, view , tiles Check that Wmm2Ae.dll .... to Wmm2res.dll are there and have the version number 2.1.40.26 ( as per Dean Rowe's blog) CheckMovieMk.exe in explorer select properties and if the file is ver 2.0 then you have confirmed the problem it should be ver 2.1.... All of the following may not be necessary but here is how I rectified it I AM NOT A COMPUTER BLOKE SO I AM ONLY TELLING YOU WHAT WORKED FOR ME! open START UP - RUN TYPE In C:\windows\system32\dllcache ENTER ........ see Dean Rowe's blog if its not hthere and you need ServicePackFiles\i386 Hold down control and select the following files Moviemk.exe wmm2ae.dll wmm2eres.dll Wmm2ext.dll Wmm2flt.dll Wmm2fxa.dll Wmm2fxb.dll Wmm2res2.dll Wmm2res.dll .note I did not find ANY of these Wmm" files here so I just selecteed Moviemk.exe on it's own. EDIT, COPY Go to c:\program Files| movie maker ( the missing Wmm2 Files were HERE - I ignored them for being away from there proper place -naughty files) EDIT , PASTE in CONFIRM FILE REPLACE .... YES TO ALL Restart Windows XP I then did a run update from Control panel , automatic update and It said I needed Service pack 3 I express installed this which took about 2hours !!!! An Bobs your uncle Movie maker updated to version 2.1 and every thing is running OK To see what I did with go to YOU TUBE SPARKFISHES and it will be TESLA COIL TUNING and TOP LOADS .......... its a shocking experience Thanks to all those who have spent many hours putting articles and advice on these matters To MICROSOFT >>>>>>>>>>>>> MOVIE MAKER IS SOooooo FLAKEY Shame on you!     - files missing, delete, but can't import again I hv play back problem in MM. so I delete them, but I can't clear the contents from "Imported media". It doesn't show file name, however, I still can see clip name and duration etc. I try to import back the same file again, but error appears. It says "... .jpg could not be imported.     - Setting title duration I know I can use Options on the Tools pull-down menu to set the duration for each picture to display.     - An interface has too many methods to fire from... intermittent iss I think I have read just about every response to this error message, except my issue is a little different than the others. I have a Sony DCR-HC30 which I used for years with WMM 2.1 connect via firewire with no issue. Now I ingest footage off my DCR via WMM with no issue, edit and output it for DVD burning and suddenly the AVI files that I could view yesterday, are unreadable today with the "An interface has too many methods to fire events from" error. Now the only think I have changed over the years is the addition of a 500Gb HDD for storing and working on more video footage. The drive has occassion issues staying connected through the USB. I am suspecting that it is either the drive or the USB connection that is unstable here. I am lookinf for options and suggestions to resolve my issues.     - Import images file either not valid or corrupted I am having a problem that I have looked ever where else to find an answer to. Twice in the last three days now I have had to re-import my video and music files in to MM, I get an error message that says the files or either not valid or corrupted.     - Voice over? Hi, is there any way to voice over a speech/music/sound from an existing video clip which continues into the 2nd video clip. For example, i have a video whereby i have a video of a person singing and as he/she sings the song from that clip can continue on into various movie clips just like a karaoke.     - Nothing works! Hi. I am so frustrated. I spent 700.00 on a camera ( with extra battery pack, case ect...) and I can not make a movie. I was so excited to discover that my WXP had MM but then I find out it won't accept my mpg2 movies. Papajohn (and others ) post that I need to download a converter and convert them to avi. files. I did that. Then I need to download a Panasonic codec something or other, I did that.     - No Sound I'm creating a video and I've imported 2 songs. One works fine but the other one doesn't make a sound! I right clicked on it, clicked on Play clip and it still won't play. I checked it out in Windows Media Player and it works fine. When I went back, the other song wouldn't play so I deleted them both and imported them again.     - On opening Movie maker Crashes I'm using an XP Pro and have installed IE7 - and also have installed SP2 sometime ago. All other programs seem to be running okay.     - Error Opening Movie Maker Project (Redirected) I accidentally posted this in the wrong group, but someone kindly informed me of my mistake. I'm using Windows Movie Maker with XP and no, no IE7. Now, when creating my video there were no issues really. I saved it a couple times, but I didn't actually have to open it again during its creation because I kept WMM running the whole time I was making it. After it was completed I tried to save it as a movie file. I've done this plenty of times with no issue, but the progress bar stuck at 89% and then the estimated time remaining went up. (65 seconds, then 1 minute, then 4 minutes) I canceled and then attempted to save again, but encountered the same issue. I restarted my computer and then when I tried to open the project I was informed that WMM had enountered an error and needed to close, so sorry. It's very important that I rescue this file, because it was a creative project and there is basically no way I could redo it. Especially because when I tried to do that, create another version of it, I had the same error when trying to open THAT saved file. However, WMM is okay when opening other projects I've finished long ago, at least for now. Please... can anybody help me, and soon? Tag: AVI Files Tag: 65675

    - After unchecking codecs, MM won't start - says it can't find audio I have XP with SP2. MM was starting to crash on me more and more, especially after adding audio. I followed the advice on papajohn.org to uncheck some codecs in the MM options. Then crashes seemed less frequent, but after the next reboot MM won't start - it says "Windows movie maker cannot be used because the required audio hardware cannot be found on your computer." I'm pretty sure I didn't remove any codecs specific to my sound card (Realtek AC'97), but I uninstalled the sound card drivers, downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled them anyway. No change. I've searched the web and found others having this message, but not because of simply unchecking codecs. How do I recover?
