I cannot seem to get the movie maker to not crash when entering a video effect. eg I try to use the "older film" effect and the program just vanishes. Any tips on how to fix this?

I was having the same problem so I called good ole customer service help numbe. He had me uninstall anything that said Codek in the add/remove programs. Mine was called K-Lite Codek. It worked because after it works perfect. The guy said it was another maker program interfering.
