    - Distorted movie Connected Panasonic NV-GS70 Camcorder through Firewire Card & Cable. My XP Home SP2 Device manager shows firewire card and installed properly. To get imaging device recognised it wasn't easy, but i got it and device manager recognised it as Panasinic AV Device and installed corrrectly. I get Distorted movie preview in all formats. By defaults it goes to NTSC and not as PAL. No Automatic Capture window is seen in movie maker wizard. Is this a problem beacuse i have builtin dispaly of 32MB shared memory? I tried same card & cable and camera on another PC with XP Professional SP2 and works fine this too have builtin display. I dont know what to do. Please help. regards Tag: Editing-contrast Tag: 32017

    - unable to save in avi format Although I have successfully created DVDs before, I am having this problem with a movie I am creating now. I am able to save this movie in WMV format but when I go to save it as AVI, I get the following error. I know that have plenty of disk space. Movie maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and there is enough disk space, available and then try again.     - How do you convert DVR-MS? I have been looking all over, since ms doesn't support the new format. I have tried using the programs off of TGB and they do not work at all. Probably to show off.     - WMM 2.1 saved file for the web is not found. When creating a file for the web and then selecting DSL the program converts and saves, and indicates it has been saved successfully. on looking for the saved file it doesn't exist. It should hve bee saved as a WMV to use on the web. anyone know why it was not saved? Wat can I do to make it save or how can I findout why it didn't save.     - Transition Maker 2 Patrick has spend many months developing a newer, better version 2 of Transition Maker 2 (not that there was anything found wrong with version 1)... it's now available for download... a free upgrade for those who have version 1.... and a 7 day free trial version for those who haven't tried it.     - Audio file length When I add and MP3 file to the audio track of my edited video even though the mp3 is 3min20secs long it shows in the timeline as over 7mins long. The wave form on the time line ends at 3min 20secs so I can cut it back but it is pretty annoying. Does anyone know what causes this and if it can be corrected. Tag: Editing-contrast Tag: 31995

    - Editing Video and Audio Is there anyway to add a second video line in the timeline when editting - so you can transition your video from the main piece with audio - to just some video of other things over the audio from the main clip - in other words - is there a way to separate the audio and the video.     - removing and replacing scenes ,, keeping original sound track Good Day Need some urgent help please. I am busy editing a video (shot on 2 different dv cameras). I have started with the main camera (45 minutes) , and I have also put the second camera's footage on the time-line. I have dragged the video on to the music line ,, in order to be able to cut out scenes from first camera and replace with scenes from another camera ,, thereby keeping the original sound. I am having major problems in trying to replace exactly the same amount . For example I have removed a scene of 3:14 (3 seconds, 14) . On the other footage the closest I can get is 3:12. I have tried for hours. No matter what it is always .2 of a second out . In order to have the sound synchronized ,, I have to take out and replace exactly the same amount of video .. On the one the scene starts at 5:33.12 and end at 5:36:26 yet on the other it ends on 5:36:24 etc etc Awaiting your expert comments please ...     - WMM2.1 When creating a file for the web and then selecting DSL the program converts and saves, and indicates it is saved succesfully. But I cannot find the saved file. I've repeated this several time but each time I cannot find the saved file. It should have been saved as a WMV to use on the web. I do not select the Microsoft suggested sites.     - Audio from one clip with video from another! Is there any way to combine the audio from one video clip with the video from another? I want to overlay the audio from one clip with a title clip. BUT, the key is I don't want it in the "Audio/Music" line because I want to keep the music going. Know what I mean?     - HP dc5000 not recognized as Video Capture Device I have a VCR connected to my hp dvd movie writer dc5000 connected to my WinXP SP2 PC. VCR connected via s-video and audio (red & white). I can capture video & audio through the dc5000 with the ArcSoft ShowBiz software that came with the dc5000. I can capture video (no audio yet) through the dc5000 with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.     - no video capture ok,kids,I've seen this one before.I have a vaio pcvrs720g, brand new,jvc grd33us vid cam.Using wmm,u-lead ,dvgate,nero6,or roxio I get the same thing.Computer recognizes cam,any software will operate cam functions,up to and including capture.But,will not capture video.Different error messages with different softwares,but all basically say:no video capture,check source and computer configuration.Have connected with firewire and i-link cables and ports,same result.Have my old dell computer,it works fine.(just too slow).Camera even starts,shows vid on cam view screen,but nothing in preview window on computer,no counter action,and no capture.Anyone got a clue.By the way,talked to Sony,said it's under warranty,ship it to repair station.Biiig help!     - "insufficient memory" error when saving While editing various video clips I ran into this "insufficient memory" error when trying to save my project. I don't know why I'm getting this message, and if it refers to my RAM or hard drive space. I have a gig of RAM and well over 25 gigs of storage on my hard drive, so I don't understand how it's insufficient. With movie maker open, the computer is only using about 550mb of RAM.     - chopping a bit off the end of a video If I recorded a .wmv using MM2.1 and then imported that file back into MM2.1 and split off the last minute of the video and saved the result using exactly the same video profile. Am I right in assuming that there would be no loss of quality whatsoever because the program would be intelligent enough to spot that it's simply doing a trim operation and doesn't need to re-encode (and degrade the quality further) ? I'm tempted to think this isn't the case because doing this operation can take 20 minutes on a 30 minute video recorded (and being re-saved) at 500kbps.     - wmv versions produced? Hi, I've been recording shows using MovieMaker for a couple of years. The last few months using version 2.1 of MM and previously version 2.0. Before that I used Windows Media Encoder 7 and then 8. I'm now looking at getting a portable media center and need to know the exact version of the files I've made. I don't know if they're wmv7, 8, 9 or 10.     - Recording my project problems I need help also! I've only been using MovieMaker a short while, but seemed to have a good idea what was going on. I made a few movies from pictures that I uploaded from my pc and turned into movies with music. However, now I am using the same photos and same music but am unable to record to CD. The project records the first 2/3 of the movie just fine, but during the last 1/3 of the movie the screen goes black with no pictures. The music continues to play just no pictures.     - Problems saving to CD I need help also! I've only been using MovieMaker a short while, but seemed to have a handle on it when making the first couple of movies.     - no cd in drive I have made a video on my WMM. Pictures, video and audio is on this. I know this was asked before, however, I have tried making a cd, and it goes thru most of the process with wizard. Then I get the message no CD in Drive. I know the cd burner works because I burn other music or videos. That is done from CD to CD, not from computer to CD. Also it asks if I want to save to Computer. If I open up my videos in WMM and I view the collection, doesn't that mean that it is saved in my computer.     - DV-AVI (Pal) -- AVI files have no meta-data fields!! I have movies saved in DV-AVI (PAL) because that is the best quality WMM allows for. Unfortunately AVI files do not have any fields for met-data input, nothing editable . How can I add information or fields to AVI files, is there a program available to do that, or something from the group that invented the AVI standard. I have tried putting information in the properties tab in WMM, but this does not show up on the outputted file. I thought about saving the file as a 'High quality video (PAL)', which is WMV (VBR), but this would egrade the quality. So if AVI cannot have fields, why not and how do I convert to WMV lossless?
