I'm posting this again because I really want to know how to do this. How do
you totally embed one clip inside the other? Like not just overlapping the
ends but putting one clip inside the other. I know it can be done because
I've done it before a few times but it's always been by accident when I'm
adding/removing clip effects. Everytime I try to do it on purpose it doesn't
work or when I try to change it's placement in the clip it jumps position so
that the clips are only overlapping at the ends again.

So how do you embed? Anyone know? Thanks.

If I understand you correctly you want complete overlap of one clip over
another clip in the Timeline so that the transition timeis same as clip
duration?

This is not possible, there will always be some part of the clips which wont
overlap. It wont happen even by accident, although sometimes it looks so.
But if you expand the timeline view (press Ctrl-Up/Ctrl-Dn) you will see the
missing part.

On the other hand if you mean Picture-In-Picture effect where one clip plays
inside the frame of another; this can be done. See these:

I have the PIP from your web site, how do you specify the clip in the PIP
screen?
