I heard on the radio that Sony has been planting software designed to
prevent copying DVDs that also slows down the computer and may lock up
your computer too. I don't know how the software invades the system but
I'm wondering if it came in with Sony software provided with my camcorder.
I uninstalled Sony software installed earlier. Still, I see Sony
applications in my disk directory. Suck files as SONYHCY.DLL,
SONYHCY.DLL, SONYPI.DLL, SONYHCP.DLL, SONYHCP.SYS, SONYHCS.SYS,
SONYHCC.SYS, SONYHCB.SYS, SONYpvs1.SYS are stll there. Anybody know if
this stuff can be removed?

Google search for Sony rootkit, you'll get loads of info on what it is and
how to cheat it.
