>Thanks for the response. The application loads when I turn on the deck ( Sony DSR45 DVCam). I haven't even got close to opening any type of file. XP recognizes that there is a capture device on the fierewire port and just assimes I want to run Movie Maker!
To be 100% honest with you, I have not had this experience
as I do not own a video camera ... but it still sounds like
a default program thing ... where you need to tell your
computer to open this program instead of that one.
For instance, when I put a CD or DVD in my drive, it'll ask
me what I want to do with it. I would imagine (though I can
be wrong) it's the same with your camera ... unless you
clicked the box that says 'always open with MM' at some
point in time. I don't know how to change this but the
information has to be available somewhere or from someone.
