    - Movie won't display using InFocus Projector I created a movie with Movie Maker 2 and saved the movie to my hard disk. If I play the movie with Windows Media Player it is just fine on the display. However, if I connect an InFocus Projector to the video out port on the computer and try play the movie the following happens 1) The windows desktop projects just fin 2) The Movie Maker application displays just fine, however.. the video shows on the computer but not on the projector.     - I get really poor quality results grainy and no audio Greetings to all, I have a great little JVC DVL-100 MiniDV camera and have downloaded my tapes to Windows movie maker 2 successfully. The edited version of the movie outputs to the camera (After 6 hours of rendering) but the camera records no audio and the quality is horrible. I have cleaned the heads on the camera ...made sure that the volume was working from recording other things....and the correct cable is tight and right. I had Pinnicle studio 8 installed and it was lousy too. I have a 1.25 ghz processor...an evga 5600xt video card and the new sonic blaster audio card. I even installed a new 80gig hard drive just for video. I have updated all of the drivers and they work great on everything else......PLEASE HELP this frustrated producer....Thanks !!!     - Linking Sony PC100E to my PC Total novice taking first steps with Windows Movie Maker ..... and with PC100E Sony Sony make whatosever no mention of linking Camera to a PC in the instructions, only to a TV, things have obviously moved on since we bought the camera in 2001 .... Am I right in thinking that I need an S-Video cable, same both ends is it were ? There's an S-Video (4 round-pins, plus one oblong, yes ?) socket on the camera, and a similar one on what I take to be the Video Card, since the exit for the screen comes off just next door.     - Follow up on Metallic Audio Its taken ALOT of time, but I think I have figured out what the problem is. It seems that my DV codec is outputting the audio at 48khz instead of 44.1. I don't think windows Movie Maker supports 48khz audio, and thus I get this bad quality. I ripped a track from a cd at 48khz, and it would play fine in Winamp, but in MovieMaker, the file gets that metallic quality about it, even before the movie is produced. It remains the same when outputting the movie file. I believe that this occurs when a file is converted between sample rates, wether it be 44.1 to 48 or 48 to 44.1. There is no setting under System>Device Man>Sound Video Controllers>Video Codecs>DV soft that lets me change the audio quality. How can I fix the problem knowing this new information? ~~~~~~The original post is below. Well I tried to change the audio to an mp3 with a bitrate of 320 encoded from a wav with 1141. Then I tried to use the wav-file as the audio source. Both times, the audio came out the same buzzy metallic sound. Is there something elso I can do?     - Now MM1 doesn't work either!!! New XP Pro install. I know that MM1 was working at some point as I used it to test video capture from my Radeon VIVO after updating it's drivers as part of the install. I then went on to install/update other drivers etc. for additional hardware, including both my Creative Webcam and my Fuji digital camera (that can be either a drive or webcam). After all the dust settled, got all the "critical ..." etc., I then upgraded to MM2. MM2 hangs at trying to capture a video, never displaying the video source dialog box. Thankfully hitting the "Close" (big red X button) allows me to terminate it. Given the above, I followed prior instructions in another thread and expanded back out MM1. MM1 also now hangs! Even worse, refuses to terminate. It's at least a log off and appears a system reboot may even be required to completely purge whatever muck-around it's caused. (when are we going to get that OS they keep talking about that's supposed to NOT, I repeat NOT, allow this to happen ... argh!!!) It appears to be some problem simply getting the attached video input devices selection dialog box to appear. Enumeration problem? I do know, no other software appears to be having this problem. I can select from any of the input sources in MSMessenger and a number of 3rd party apps includng even a little program I wrote myself a few years ago. Who knows, who cares? All I know is that I've got something similar to useless garbage laying around on my system that's absolutely worthless and there seems to be little I can do about it. It wears thin real fast when beta software gets included and advertised as one of the big plus's in a product. We've all seen MM "demonstrated" within some XP ad touting it's features etc. They seem to fail to mention 'If it works for you' as a disclaimer. Tag: Creating Clips wont work Tag: 12789

    - Movie Record Time All I want to do is transfer my 8MM tapes to DVD's. I am converting my Analog Tapes through a digital coverter box and the picture shows up on the screen. Unfortunately, nothing of that helped. Admittedly, this time my project is much larger than previous projects have been. It includes some 275 jpeg's and about 150 avi's.     - VCR to DV Camera to WMM problems I'm trying to capture video from a VCR. When I play the VCR tape through my Sony TRV 22 I can see it in WMM, but when I click "Capture" the DV tape in the Sony starts to play and all I do is capture off the DV tape. However, at a price. The video, while playing right through, jerks or shudders a bit while doing so, and the sound plays through too but is of only average quality. In short, a clip played in Storyboard isn't a patch on a clip play in Collections. Something in MM2 is still trying to mess with the .avi file. So, I give up! ;-) Can I revert back to MM1? If so, how do I do this? If I have to use the XP Pro roll back feature, will any software that I have installed since MM2 - quite a bit - be removed also?     - New XP Pro install, MM2 update, MM2 now toast!!! XP Pro,. Radeon 64 DDR VIVO, Creative Webcam and sometimes Fuji S602 Z all connected. Latest Radeon Cat 4.2 installed. Movie Maker was working. Didn't test it fully but I'm pretty sure I started it up and the composite input off Radeon came up. Been doing the thing at Windows update (new install) and noticed the MM2 update so did it also. Now when I choose to start recording MM2 hangs. Supplied help seems to indicate a video device selection dialog box should come up but it never does. Any ideas? I havem't updated WMP from 8 and would prefer not to. Hopefully that's not a requirement is else the update site would have indicated same. Also I can't find any "Remove" for MM or MM2 in Add/Remove under any of the choices. I can seem to use all the video devices in MSMessenger, the VFW's devices (cams) in NetMeeting and ATI's TV-In app is working finest kind. tia for any help. If nothing else, how do I remove it?     - Help making clips please I made a nice avi file from DVIO. I am going from vcr to camcorder to pc through firewire. Worked great and looks very clean. It is 6 gigs. My problem is creating clips to edit. When I click import video into WMM2 with make clips checked, well it just does not make the clips. I am trying to create clips automatically in WMM2. When I right click the .AVI file in my collection and select "create clips" it chugs along for 10 minutes but creates 0 clips. It is imported via firewire from my miniDV camera

Hi there,

Does the clip have a timeline....giving Date and Time it was created? Or does
the clip have at least one scene change...the recorder/camera was stopped and
then recording started again with a different scene?

If the answer is no then you will not be able to use that option. Howvever you
can still impot it into Movie Maker 2 and manually edit it yourself.
