I keep receiving an error when I try to copy a movie to a DVD-R. It says
"windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file". It doesn't
give me any direction. This is a DVD burner I just installed, DVD+/-RW
16x/NEC ND-3520A. I am running windows XP. I am trying to copy to a memorex
DVD-R 8x. I don't have any problems playing games from the drive. Any ideas
on what I am doing wrong?

Movie Maker can't save directly to a DVD (see my answer to "Savings/Copying
to CD" post above)
Short answer you need a DVD authoring program to put your movie on a DVD. Or
at least DVD burning software if you only want to copy the file to DVD and
not create a "proper" DVD.

I need to clarify. I am copying from my video camera. I created and saved
the movie on my hard drive. I am told movie maker should be able to burn the
DVD. Any more direction for me?

Any more direction would be that you were told wrong.
Movie Maker *cannot* burn a DVD
