How do I change a .mov file into a format that moviemaker 2 would regonize. My Kodak Digital Camera records movies in .mov files but MovieMaker 2 can't use them because it can't regonize them as a compatable video format

How to adjust project audio volume?
New MM2 user. Source audio somewhat low. I can adjust the
volume of ONE clip at a time. Is there a way to either
select all of the clips and adjust the audio level on all
at once, or is there a way to adjust the entire project's
audio? It seems counterproductive to have to combine all
the clips to be able to adjust the audio level and then
split them apart to build the project. I guess I could
capture the work as one clip, adjust the audio and save the
project, then capture it again to build many clips. Time
consuming but possible. Is there an easier way?

A quick question
Downloaded WMM2 last night and made a few quick movies with it. What
a great program! Can't wait to spend some quality time with it.
I was wondering however if it is possible to make a Video CD (VCD) out
of the movies that I have made. I usually use Nero burning to do it,
but it doesn't recognize WMVs. Is there another program i should look
at for this? If i use the "burn to CD" function would that make a
VCD?

Thanks for your comment on my problem. Maybe part of my problem is that I made the slideshow in Photo story with lots of zooms and pans, so there actually is lots of movement. Still seems a shame.
I donâ??t currently have a DVD burner, but would that solve my problems of poor quality?
Could I still create the movie from slideshow in photostory and WMM and then burn it straight to a DVD? Do you burn an avi file to a DVD or would I have to convert it to MPEG first? Iâ??m new at this and need help obviously.
I canâ??t stand that I put hours and hours to create this 20 minute movie (which we love), but canâ??t burn it to watch on the DVD player satisfactonily, you know? Thanks for any advice. Ladybu Tag: Copied movie won't play on my DVD home player Tag: 10858

I had a problem with my sound skipping during transistions

I added an 'Ease In' and/or 'Brightness Increase' (or
combinations of others) and the problem went away. I

Buggy Microsoft code!!!
I looked in here to get some help for (a) problem(s) I'm
having with windows Movie Maker, I can't in any way
convert this stupid ".MSWMM" file format to anything:
Mpeg, Avi, CD, DVD, anything! The WMM save wizard either
crashes my system or asks me to wait 35million minutes
until my file is done. I've got a brand new computer with
a 2.6 gig processor, and a huge hard drive, loaded with
video stuff, it should work fine, but it doesn't. I don't
have 91 years to wait for a slideshow of baby pictures.
But then I see all these requests for help from others
with no response from anyone, let alone microsoft.
One would figure if they continue to flood the market with
these buggy programs, they's have some kind of accessible
tech support, especially for us PAYING CUSTOMERS! They
should have their expert coders regularly check these
newsgroups and forums and offer help to their perplexed
and frustrated customers. Tag: Copied movie won't play on my DVD home player Tag: 10834
Please help me
I have tried several permutations to get my vcd's and c-dvd's to play on computers other than the computer that created them. I have MM2 and created a fabulous movie which I saved in dv-avi. Then I used Roxio to record them in the various formats.
I now have 10 cds, and none of them can be opened on all computers, just a couple on this computer, and a couple on that computer...
I then tried to capture the video directly into Roxio and burn from there, but again, there are no reliable results. I thought creating the video in Roxio would make it more compatible with Roxio's encoding process, but so far, it doesn't seem to be any better than creating the movie in MM2 and saving as dv-avi & importing it into Roxio. Am I missing a step in Roxio?
So far, the best and most universal disc I have been able to do is to create a VCD (via mm2 to roxio) which requires the users to open their windows media player (or quicktime for mac users), and then, from within the player, manually open one of the 5 files which will appear. Then the video opens.
I am using these cd's to promote my business and I am worried that a potential customer will not go to all of the trouble to open these cd's.
The only good side to this last cd is that I tried it on 4 computers and the "manual" way worked on all of them.
Is there a better way? Should I just include instructions for opening my cd's when I send them?

Crashes when saving to DV-AVI
Papajohn and others
I have a 15 minute slide show created in MM2 complete with titles, transitions, effects and audio. When I go to save it as a DV-AVI file, after saying it is about 12 percent complete (approximately 10 after starting to save) I get an error message saying that the program must close. I have noticed that the time remaining increases all the while the file is being saved (upwards of 30 minutes) instead of decreasing. I have an HP computer with a Pentium 4 and a very large hard drive. Please advise on how I can get past this and what should be the normal time for my computer to save this size file
Thanks

PapaJohn! I found a fix to some Capture Problems!
I have posted before and read postings by others unable to
capture video from their DV camcorder through their IEEE
1394 port. Well, I finally fixed my problem and I thought
that I would be nice and share with everyone else that had
similar problems to mine:
My System:
Pentium 4
Windows XP Pro
Motherboard (built-in) IEEE 1394
DirectX 9.0b
My Problem:
Windows would recognize my Camcorder (Sony DCR-TRV27) when
plugged in via IEEE 1394, but every time I tried to
capture, I got the error:
"An Unknown Error Has Occurred" (Please check video device
to see that it is not being used by another device ....
etc.)
I WAS able to play, rewind, etc. from the computer
(transport controls), but no video capture.
My Fix:
In desperation, I downloaded the Trial Version of Adobe
Premiere. After installation, Premiere was able to
capture video fine. I went back and tried Movie Maker 2,
and it TOO was able to capture fine at this point.
The Reason?:
I know that Premiere re-installed DirectX 9.0b when I
installed Premiere. My guess is that there was some sort
of driver conflict that was worked out with this
installation. Anyway, I'm a much happier person now that
my firewire connection works with my system. So far, no
missed frames, good audio.
I hope this helps people who have had similar problems.

Cannot capture neither create movies anymore
Hi everyone. Just suddenly, I cannot capture video anymore from my Panasonic camcorder neither create a movie after having edited it. The hardware link is fine because I did a video test capture with VideStudio and it worked ok.
For the first problem I'm getting "Capturing profiles cannot be found" and for the latter, on the Save Movie Wizard, "No LOC needed - Autolayout placeholder string".
And when I try to save the movie (to the PC), the screen is overlayed with text from other options... And it goes to an endless loop where I'm getting (randomly) 30611855 more or less minutes to create a 13 minutes movie!!!
I've re-installed MM2, re-booted the PC and re-launched MM but with same results as before.
Earlier, I received a Windows XP error message that a "mscoree.dll" was missing (which I've managed to download and re-install back).
Thx for your help if someone has an idea how to solve this mistery.

Saving
I have a large hard drive (106GB), so I am able to do large projects. I have a problem with saving my movie as a movie file so it can be compatible with Sonic MyDVD. When I save the movie as a movie file (to My Computer), it saves about 3/4 to 85% of the movie and then stops saving. I know this because the CPU usage goes to zero and the minutes remaining begin to increase instead of decrease. I know that it takes a long time to render into a different format, but I have left it for long periods of time and the program makes no more progess saving the movie. I've heard that some computers weren't designed to have such big hard drives, so when a file or project is that big, it is impossible for the computer to handle it or something, like a safety feature. I don't know. Is there anything I can do? Tag: Copied movie won't play on my DVD home player Tag: 10780
Preventing WMM from controlling camera
I want to use a Sony TRV33E as an analogue (VCR) to digital converter (which you can). In this setup the video stream can be captured over the FireWire from the camera and the video control is via a VCR. While software such as Adobe Premiere is quite happy to capture a free flowing stream without any attempt at controlling the camera, the WMM is trying to start the camcorder's tape, thus shutting off the analogue signal conversion. WMM is actually capable of displaying the converted video from the FireWire, the problem however is how to stop it from interfering with the camcorder's controls - I cannot see anyway of making the camera to ignore such software requests. Any ideas
