I recently upgraded my home computer to XP SP2 and MM 2.1. I created a
slideshow on this computer and it ran fine in Windows Media Player. Got to
the office to show off my work, and it would not run on XP Pro ... it played
the .mp3 music file, but couldn't read the .jpgs I imported for the slide
show. What's up with that, anybody know?

Thanks,

--Jim

Hi Jim,

I'll assume you saved the movie as a WMV file and tried to play it at work.
But a movie file isn't mp3 or JPG files anymore, they are all folded into
the WMV movie file....

If you saved it as a movie and it didn't play OK, then the work computer
wasn't connected to the internet to get the needed codec, or the firewall at
work wouldn't let it be automatically downloaded.

Hello there,

You probably need to upgrade to the latest DirectX and codecs from the
Microsoft website.

Okay, I did save it as a wmv file. It was a slideshow with an mp3 file
attached. It may well be a firewall that kept the computer from getting the
correct update ... never thought of that. I appreciate that suggestion.

Thanks,
