Hi I need to know if Movie Maker can record actions I perform on the desktop.
For example if I am creating a help video on how to save a file I want it to
record the desktop and mouse actions. Is this possible?

Thanks-James

James,

No.... you'll need to use software such as Microsoft Producer or the Windows
Media Encoder or Tech Smith's Camtasia Studio..... or put your camcorder on
a tripod and make clips of the screen.

Hi James,

Check out Bulent's Screen Recorder v.2.4b at http://www.thesilver.net/. The
free version has features that may address your need.

Best wishes & regards,

Just a thought - dont know if it would work or not - but if your video
card has a svideo out and your camera has an svideo in, would this allow
you to record the same pic as your monitor?

It seems to me that since you can record to your camera from teh TV, and
you can operate your computer with the TV as a monitor, then what you
want to do should be possible.
Just a thought

Hi David,

It might work... but it would depend on the camcorder. Most camcorders with
S-video connections are a one way street for the video signal, from the
camcorder to the TV. They don't work in the other direction.
