I have successfully captured from a JVC camcorder using
their 'ImageMixer', so it can be done! but MM2 crashes as
soon as I try to capture with it. Why oh why?

MM2 works with a firewire connection to capture from a digital camcorder,
not a USB one.

I have a Sony TRV900 connected via FireWire to a HP AMD3200. I cannot get the video to be captured. It stalls at 3kb no matter what I do. I tried automatic capture, manual, etc. to no avail. The computer recognizes the camera perfectly. What should I do?

Try windv, which is a nifty little free app for capturing and exporting. See
