Can't get sound capturing in .AVI

I am using movie maker ver.1.1 and when i capture video in .AVI i have no
sound. I have tried to capture in both .WMM and .AVI and merge the audio from
the .WMM file to the .AVI file ( I have seen that advice posted else where
here) but i can't seem to do that. Is it the ver of movie maker i am using.

Or is there another way to get audio on my .AVI file

What are you capturing from? and what capture device are you using?

I am using movie maker ver 1.1 to make the movie.

Sorry I am using a DV camera with a fire wire...I get sound and video when i
capture to a .WMV file. but when I cature to a .AVI file i get to sound.
