    - Preview Hangs Hello All I recently experienced a annoying problem with my Movie Maker. The preview for the video clips hangs. To Reproduce: - New Project - Import Video clip - Drag video to timeline - Play video, video plays just fine - Click anywhere in the video timeline to forward to a point in the video (sometimes I have to split the video to make the preview hang) - Preview of the video freezes but the time line animation continues Is this a know problem?     - Simple PIP effect Does anyone know how I can achieve a simple PIP (picture-in-picture) effect? I have two videos, each of 1 minute in length, and I want to produce an out video that is 1 minute long. One of the videos will be full frame, the other will be shown in parallel in the smaller PIP window. I've found a plugin called PIP+ but it seems more focused on less useful flying PIP's than simple static ones.     - Adding background music to my project Hi all, I need to make an instructional WMV video to show how to use a certain aspect of Windows. I used Media Encoder 9 to screen capture the procedure. I then edited the video in MM2.1 until all the "bloopers" were eliminated. After that I added audio by narrating the steps that the user must follow. I noticed that MM2.1 added the narration to the Audio/Music track. Finally I added a WAV music track to fill in holes at the beginning and end of the screen captured procedure. As a last step I would like to add background music to the narration at a very low volume to avoid being annoying, but I can't figure out how to do it. I used Google, but most of the results detail steps on how to add music or narration to the Audio/Music track, something that I already did, but so far I have not been able to find any info on how to add background music to the narration.     - JVC Editing in MOVIE MAKER I bought a nice JVC Camcorder. It makes .MOD files which have to be converted to MPG MWV or AVI to be edited in WMM. Ive read on here that WMM doesn't "like" or "work very well" with .MOD. What my goal is (and judging from some other online forums) is to convert the .MOD files WITH Windows Movie Maker. I was given a lead last week that Adobe Premeir Elements or ULEAD video Studios. I have several questions. 1). Ive found a product (and the free trial works nicely to convert) called AVS4YOU, Ive been able to convert it (although only to WMV which works in WMM) and the clip adds to my timeline. But just because I could get it on the Timeline and can edit as usual is this THE BEST Solution? 2)When you recommend using ADOBE Premeir Elements or ULEAD are you saying to use one of THOSE products as our FILM editors. My point being we wouldnt be using Windows Movie Maker to edit or projects? Sometimes the answers are ambiguious enough that I cant tell whether you are recommending using it to CONVERT the clips so they can be used in Windows MM, or that because of the JVC Enviro that Adobe Premeir Elements or ULEAD would be the BEST and most Hassle free way to edit our movies now. 3) Also, can those programs do everything (or more) that Windows MM can do? Point being, is there a tremendous learning curve for those of us that wont be using WMM for our JVC stuff? I hope thats everything, sorry for the length, but Ive encountered much in JVC< here and other similar forums of people asking about what to do about converting .MOD to a format so that WIndows Movie Maker can edit them. Most people (as myself ) are driven to the question, merely so we dont have to switch Movie Editing Programs, and because of my naivete' (I wont speak for others but it appears so).     - wont publish Hi there... I am making a video as a gift for a friend on my windows movie maker. I have the vidoe done and have watched it several times. Now I am trying to publish it, but everytime I hit publish, the program freezes and re-starts. I know that the problem is the video clip I have. It is a 20second or so video clip that I took on my camera. I deleted this from the video and it published fine, but the video just isn't the same without it! Does anyone know how I can get it to publish with the video? I have made a video before using a video clip from my camera, so I'm not sure why it isn't working!     - Error Message: Not Enough Memory... I get "not enough the memory is available to complete this operation." I have 1 GB RAM. 1035 MB page file on my F drive, another on my C drive. This happens when I am playing back my current project. It doesn't matter where I start, after a certain amount of video the video stops. The audio continues.     - Movie Maker Error I have converted several flv files to wmv using a third-party program called WinFF. The converted files play fine in WMV, but I would like to edit them. I import the file in MM and can edit them. When I go to save the file, I get the following message about 40% through the saving movie file process: "Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."     - No such interface supported Whenever I try to capture video Move Maker displays a dialog box that says "no such interface supported".     - After SP2, still have MM 2.0 I have windows xp sp 2 with all latest updates, but my Movie Maker is version 2.0.3312.0. I did a search for moviemk.exe which i believe is 2.1, but it is not on my hard drive. I think this happened because I did not realize 2.1 was already on my computer, and download 2.0, so maybe it overwrote 2.1? not sure... So, how do I get MM 2.1? Can I download it seperately?     - Help - PS3 & MM - poor quality Just used PS3 for the first time and find it's great. Here's my problem. I am making an 8 min or so movie for work. I started with PS3 using 81 photos while an mp3 is playing. The preview and saved file works perfectly. This is 4 mins of the 8 mins. I need. I then imported this wmv into MM to add other clips and pictures. Before I did any other additions, I saved this as a movie in MM to view it. The problem is it runs choppy with the zoom effects very poor. I have been making mini movies each year for awhile. In the past I end up adding the movie file into powerpoint. This year I am being more creative and find it will be impossible to add to PP and intend to burn the final production to a DVD. What solutions are there to add to the PS3 imported wmv into MM while adding the remaining 4 mins of clips I need and saving as a smooth movie to burn? Or am I asking too much from the software?     - Movie Maker lost the abiliy to capture in DV-AVI from a camcorder Windows Movie Maker has lost the ability to capture video from a DV camcorder in DV-AVI format. The DV-AVI selection is now grayed out and not available. It worked when last used about 1 month ago. Rebooting windows does not help. Windows automatic update is on. Movie maker automatic codec download was off. I turned on automatic codec download and imported an AVI video file on the computer without fixing the problem although from the wait before starting the import I suspect a new codec was loaded.     - TITLES and CREDITS One Problem I have is. I have a problem dropping text to be overlayed on a video in the exact spot I need it. I drag it with my mose and it will put it at (lets just choose a number) at 1:00:30 or it will let me put it at 1:01:07. Is this a function of my mouse not being sensitive enough?     - Problem getting error writing video file My son is trying to save a video to file and keeps getting an error that really doesn't make sense. This error occurs sometime even before it tries to write the files, and at other times, it writes the file 10% of the way, then gives the error. The error message indicates there are are 3 possible problems: 1. There is not enough disk space. 2. The source files are missing. 3. The destination where the file is being written to is no longer available. None of these 3 conditions are true. The hard drive has 44GB of space, and the size of the video file we are trying to save would be about 10MB. We have also tried writing the file to a SD card just to test this situation, but we get the same error. We are able to play the actual video through within Movie Maker itself, which I am assuming means that the source files are avialable. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?     - How to " select it all " and put it in the timeline ? I can select all pictures at the top level ( like in the WDW collection), but each and every video needs to be dragged so I have to scroll all the way up - to the left - select it. then drag it to the lower right ,etc. Is there ANY way to speed that up ?     - How big will output file be ? My objective is to record all vacation pictures and video onto one DVD : 1. While creating a project and dragging/dropping pictures/video in there ( A LOT), how can/would I know how big the wmv fiile will be ? In less than 4gb fine , but I do NOT want to click on " Create Moive" and have it take 12 hours to produce a file that is 6.1gb as it will then be too big for one DVD.     - Saving project and reloading on another PC I am working on a project on two different computers. I imported the video clips, edited as necessary till I was partially done. I then saved my project. Later, on the second computer, I reloaded my project and my timeline shows the clips, but with red Xs.I am accessing the same resource on both PCs, that is, all the imported clips and files are available to both projects. One difference is that the reource maps to drive E: on one PC and to drive F: on the other. What is the best way to solve this? Having trouble signing in, after I repeatadly click save my username and password when Icome back it's blank, now to post a new question it goes in a circle ?, I spent the last 2 days buying and running Reg/Cure and Spybotware then bought Roxio 10 and installed it but, WMM still only says save to Cd not DVD also, I looked at the compatability list and there is no Roxio there, three say Nero and a bunch of others.     - Find lost untitled project or recover yesterdays work?? Is there any way to find an untitled project - other than basic stuff? I have spent 15 hours on a project that I can not find. It was saved and re-opened many times. I started this project a couple days ago, every time moviemaker froze and I had to close it, when I opened it again it would say searching for.... and my project would come up. I even hit the save button a couple times, but never named it - Because it was fine and I wasn't done. This morning when I opened it and worked on it and it did its freeze thing and I closed and re-opened it - it was fine. Then after a couple times of that, when it opened - it opened the last NAMED project I was working on. The named project was the end part of the new untitled project. I have used searched, used restore then un-did restore, read 50 websites, read help here.. I have looked everywhere.     - quicktime mov to avi to WMV . WMP plays them fine but WMM still says bad codec New camera output = .mov files. I didn't know QT rather than AVI until I used it on vacation and since I bought it at CompUSA and they went out of business - I own the problem. Currently: I used Total Video Converter to get into AVI format and Windows Media player opens the avi files fine. YET, when I now try to add them to a WMM project the message says " cannot find codec to PLAY file ...". I have the "autocheck for codec" box checked. So this "codec that it 'looks for'" has to be at at certain site at microsoft.com ?? How would I know what it "knows about" and how would I specify which to use ? Would like to fimd out how others with same situation handle it. Rather than reinventing the wheel, any recommendations of .mov to .wmv converter. I went to avi thinking - that works fine, until now when - after converting 30-40 mov files to avi , NOW finding out that I wasted my time.     - Scrolling text goes black during DVD playback I've made a movie, using Movie Maker 2, where one section near the middle has a title block with a narative running as scrolling text (like the Star Wars intro.) This scrolling text runs fine on the computer during playback. Movie is then saved and burned to a DVD using Nero software. The DVD plays fine in other players until the scrolling text is reached. The screen goes blank after a few seconds of showing the text and, as soon as the text shot is finished, the remainder of the movie plays fine.     - wrong size of video after it's saved i make videos while i play world of warcraft, using Fraps. i got an unregistered version so the video clips only last for 30 - 60 seconds. when i import a clip to windows movie maker, and press play and then press fullscreen (in the "preview" window) to see if the quality and size is the same, the quality and size is what it's supposed to be, meaning fullscreen and good quality, but then when i drag the clip down in the "blue area" / or editing area, for adding effects and etc, the size and quality minizes to half-size, so my question is, why is this happening, and how do i keep it full-sized/fullscreen? i hope somebody understand this post Tag: Can't open a project Tag: 65237

I've got Movie maker 6.0, running on Vista Home Edition, in italian
language.

Yesterday and this morning I created a project, but, now there's no way to
open it.
Every time I try to open it, a msgbox informs me that its: "Non
implementato", that means "not implemented".

Does anybody knows some solution?
I spent many hours on this project... :-/
