    - Movie Makers not recording audio I hope that I can give you all the info you need to help me with my problem, if not just let me know. I have a Cannon ES6000 8mm Video Camcorder and I'm trying to capture the video on my computer which is: Dell Dimension 8250, Intel Pentium 4 Processor at 3.06 GHz. 200GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive. 512MB PC1066 RDRAM. 16X DVD-Rom Drive. 4X DVD+R/RW CD-RW Combination Drive. 3.5 in. Floppy Drive. 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Graphics Card with TV-Out and DVI. SoundBlaster Live. Intel Pro 100M Integrated PCI NIC Card. 56K PCI Telephony Modem. 21 in. P1130 FD Trinitron Monitor. Dell Enhanced Multimedia PS/2 Keyboard. Logitech Optical USB Mouse. Harmon Kardon HK-395 Speakers. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. Microsoft Plus for Windows. Dell Movie Studio Plus. The problem that I am having is I can not get the audio to record at all, the video looks fine but I can not hear any audio during the capture or from playback from the computer.     - Can't Export to DV Camcorder PapaJohn or others-, I can capture and edit video from my JVC DVL505U camcorder just fine in the .AVI format. When I ask MM2 to Export the finished product back to my camcorder, I get a can't find a DV source error after the movie renders (~40 minutes for a 2 minute clip as an experiment). I can hear my camcorder "kick in" but I still get the error and the process is stalled. I get the suggestion of unplugging the camcorder and go back to Movie Wizard but everything just repeats. I have plenty of space available, Toshiba 1805- S207 1.1MHz, Celeron laptop running XP (service pack 1A), 384M of RAM. Latest patches of MM2 installed.     - export DV-AVI to camcorder using separate software? I use a VAIO PC with MM2, and all is going well with video editing. However, I can't cleanly save back to my Canon ZR45MC MiniDV camcorder -- various performance anomalies, including jerkiness, stuttering, dropped segments, etc. However, I can successfully save my work as a big 30 fps AVI file.     - audio track - file AVI Hi, I saved my project (originally captured as DV-AVI from DV) into my DV. Sometimes the volumen of the music (joined from cd by W.M:Player 9) almost disappeare and then returne as before, at beginning of some clip (without fade between clips). The strange is the same project saved in CD (format HighMatt) is fine, no have audio problems. I saw PapaJohn problems solutions, without result. Very thanks in advance.     - error 1904 module c:/programme etc I went to the mocrosoft site and EVENTUALY downloaded moviemaker, (twice) (dont ask) The second downmload seemed ok but when I double clicked on the icon to install it started did a fair bit then said I had an "error 1904 module c:/programme files/moviemaker/wmm2filt.dll failed to register. HRESULT contact your support personnel". and I went and read what error 1904 meant but i couldn't understand what it was talking about. I think it is something that we haven't got ticked or installed somewhere.     - MediaPlayer 9 and MovieMake 2 Does anyone know if there are any issues with opening MovieMaker 2 files in Media Player 9 where the MovieMaker 2 files then become unreadable/uneditable in MovieMaker 2?     - Better Analog convert: A-I-W Radeon or Digit8 camcorder? I have quite a few Hi8 analog tapes that I want to digitize (to CD/DVD). I'm wondering about the setup that would give me the best results. I have an All-In-Wonder Radeon AGP. Would I do better by getting a digital camcorder that can read the analog tapes?     - Can I download and install Windows Movie Maker 2 To a second drive (D) and still have Windows Movie Maker version 1 on my C drive? If this is possible I could use either program. WMM version 2 is much better that version 1 and I would use that foe converted 8 mm movies I have to put on my PC, edit and save to a CD.     - importing .avi files - problem When i try to import some .avi files into windows movie maker version 1.1.2427.1, some of the files work and are imported, and others don't. The ones that don't work come up with an error message which says "This file cannot be imported. Remote files http, ftp and other internet protocols cannot be imported. Please copy the files to your local disk to use with windows movie maker". However, the files are already on my local disk. (they are copied into the "my pictures" folder on the hard drive).     - Making Movie from pictures Hi, I took 400 pictures (5 minute time interval) from clouds with my digital camera. Now i need to assemble them as a 15 frame per second AVI movie file.     - Can't save! I have MM2 abd I just spent 3 hours making a little photo slide show with music and cool transisitions and now the darn this won't save. Help! It says to check the source location of the original files (which I did and are fine) and the place where I am saving (which has no restrictions on it) and the amount of save available (2GB should be plently).     - Finally got Moviemaker 2 working - thanks Papajohn! Here's what I made... The problems were: Not saving: Increase virtual memory Crashing on titles: Unregister subtitds Crashing on open: Unregister divxaf Movie too complex (like, over 2 minutes!) - split it in two then rejoin. All of which was on PJ's site. Although I still think MM2 could be slightly more robust and helpful in it's error reporting! So finally, I can make movies, and if no-one minds, I'm gonna show them off! Probably the wrong forum, but I'd appreciate some honest criticism on style and content: The one that started it all off, http://www.digitaltoast.co.uk/travels/MM/california_websize.wmv 2Mb I opened MM2 and gave myself 15 minutes to see what I could do with some content from a still camera that does 20 second silent clips: http://www.digitaltoast.co.uk/mad/vid/oblivion.wmv - 2.6mb, my second ever vid, and quite a good effort, I think! Something I made for my girlfriend - we're both in this one (not THAT kind of home movie though!) Than I went and bought a MiniDV camcorder for £317 and made this nightmare: long and dull - not my best! - 22Mb http://www.digitaltoast.co.uk/mad/vid/France2k3_22mb.wmv It lacks energy, but it was more an experiment into "could I make a video flow using one camera but different angles while using the same soundtrack from one shot". It sort of works, but it's still sucky! Then I decided to cycle to London: http://www.digitaltoast.co.uk/mad/vid/bicycle.wmv - 10Mb (not so good unless you like Queen, as in the music AND the monarch!) ...to see the Flugtag, where madmen make flying machines and hurl themselves off the end of a pier... http://www.digitaltoast.co.uk/mad/vid/flugtag.wmv - only 2.5Mb.     - help calm my nerves!! I just about have finished a project in MM2. I checked the file size and to create a avi type file is going to take about 9GB. I've never made anything quite this big. Now when I convert this using my dvd software, will it compact this file so it will fit on one DVD (which seems to be closer to 4.7 GB in total size availability.     - PapaJohn: please help! Hi, I'm having all kinds of trouble with MovieMaker2. It had been working fine for me for the last few months. The last couple weeks it has been hanging and rebooting my system during movie saves and sometimes during editing. I can't think of anything that has changed on my system that could have caused this other than running Windows update to get the latest security patches. I have tried all the solutions on the papajohn.org site but it didn't seem to solve my problem. I decided to start over and reformatted my hard drive. I then installed Windows XP Home. I downloaded Movie Maker 2 after installing my audio driver and it crashed saving the project. I created several new projects to make sure it wasn't a bad imported video but all the projects had problems. It usually just hangs the computer (mouse can't move, ctrl-alt-del doesn't work, scroll bar not updating). I created projects with no transitions, no effects and no audio. These had the same problems. I removed all the .ax files except for WMVDS32.AX and KSPROXY.AX (I did delete the KSPROXY one but it reappeared). So my machine had no apps on it other than MovieMaker and it still has problems. I just did a Windows Update and got totally up-to-date to see if one of the patches may have fixed this but still having problems. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Does this sound more like a memory or drive problem? I'm thinking of replacing those and seeing if it helps. If not, do you have any other ideas?     - ...problems with Movie Maker / "Click to DVD" relationship HELP! Just bought a Sony Vaio equipped with Movie Maker. I made this really neat video. Problem is, Movie Maker seems to have no direct way of burning a DVD. After following the instructions in one of the Movie Maker articles on this web site, I saved the movie as a DV-AVI file to my computer's hard drive.... then opened it into the Sony DVD burning software provided on the computer ("Click to DVD"). Everything seemed to be going swimmingly until I realized the video had NO SOUND! I went ahead and burned a DVD to make sure. Sure enough, the "Click to DVD" title page on my DVD popped up and played the standard click to dvd music, just like on my computer, but when I started to play my video, there was no audio track with it. I'm looking for other video clips to start/end my movies with. Does anyone know of a site, or boxed (cheap) set of these you can purchase?     - AOL Media Player now supporting WM9 in AOL 8.0 AOL now prompts you to download the WM9 video codec when you use the AOL Media Player to open a WMV (Media 9). Before it would just play the audio. Does the MAC version of AOL Media Player now do this?     - processor overload 100procent when capturing ? hello, when i capture my Digital Tape into the recommended format, my processor runs up until 100procent ! I have a 2,66Ghz processor with 256Ram. This should be more then sufficient. I suspect my processor since it's not the first time it consumes too much even though it's video editing.     - Capture quality problem with MM 2.0.3312.0 Hi, I have a video capture quality problem. Here is my configuration: MM release 2.0.3312.0. DirectX 9 Intel P4 2.4ghz pc / XP Home with all the updates. Old Sony analog camcorder "handycam". Dazzle - DVC 80 USB video - external videl in/out device. During video capture (recording), the MM video preview screen frequently freezes for several seconds then resumes synchronized video playback input from the camcorder. The video capture preview screen also occasionally shows a "rolling" screen or shows a lot of distortion and poor quality. So, what I end up with is a full video capture from the camcorder with lots of "frozen" segments - and some segments with lots of distortion and poor quality. 30-40% of the video capture is good. Funny thing, capture of audio from the camcorder works fine - even during the "frozen" video capture segments. Any ideas for correcting this problem? Thanks for any help. I have a Sony Analog Camcorder CCD-TRV608. With MM 1, I was able to easily
capture video and audio. However, with MM 2, I can't. The option for Video
is grayed out. I can use the Sony supplied PIXELA software to capture, so
it doesn't appear to be a hardware problem.

Any ideas?
