This one has me stumped. I have a new Sony HC32 and it is connected
via the USB connection. I can get video to come through that Sony
Picture Package, so I know the video signal is working.

Here is the problem: When I go to CAPTURE VIDEO in Movie Maker 2.1,
the program freezes. There is no way to close it down other than to
reboot the system.

Any clue?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Jim
The HC32 also comes with a firewire port on the camera. I very strongly
recommend purchasing a firewire cable and a IEEE1394 card (if there isn't
one on your computer) and using that to capture. WMM tends to get unhappy
with USB connections.

yes, I am on my way to get a firewire cable. I solved the freeze problem on
MM 2.1 by downloading the updated video drivers for my ATI 8500DV and it
works now with the usb cord.

thanks,

No thanks needed, you solved the problem without me. :-)
I think you will be much happier with the firewire connection though.
