DVD Playback quality
I am currently using a digital camcorder that only has DV-OUT. My intention is to use MM2 to edit my movies and then burn them to DVD using MyDVD5. Should the end qulaity of my DVD based movie be close to the original recording or will I notice a vast difference?
I have read that the best option is to output back into the camera and then record off that, as my camera does not have DV-IN this is not possible, I have considered changing the camera but would prefer not too.
As a novice, I enjoy using MM2 because of it's simplicity, how easy is MyDVD5 to use? should I just use this to burn the DVD and do all editing in MM2 still?
Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. Tag: Burn to DVD Tag: 10092

Canon ZR70MC not recognized by XP & system freezes
Hi, I have trouble with the following configuration

When plugging the Firewire adapter, the necessary drivers
are automatically installed by device manager
When plugging the camcorder, most of the times just
nothing happens - eventhough I installed the XP patch

almost never recognized. If the camcorder is detected
(maybe one of 20 times), I start video capturing

necessary

might this be a problem
In the System-information program (msinfo32.exe)
everything shows "OK"
Please help me to resolve this !
Is there any WORKAROUND immeadetly available ??

Locking/Snapping clips to timeline?
Is there anyway to lock down or "snap" clips to the
timeline?...I have music that I am using and want certain

transition, then everything is offset from the music.

mm2 distorts sounds or won't play at all
I have been working on a mm project for my family that is
using strickly pictures (no movie clips) and sound. I

When I came back to the project a few days later only 2
of the 20 sounds I used worked properly. The rest either
played at 2-3x the speed or it just sound like a squelchy
white noise. I found that the 2 sounds that did work
were mp3's. Soooooooo, I changed my sounds to mp3s' but
excluding the 2 mp3's that originally worked all the
mp3's are doing the same thing. I have tried everything

I insert titles into footage using mm2. All seems OK and I burn the project

made the audio on all the following footage to be out of sync, the same time

The other titles cause no problem. I have experimented with different ways

movie maker help
The FBI has been harassing and mentally torturing me for
two and half years since around Oct 01. The FBI has
installed
gps tracking devices in my car, tracked me like an animal,
wire tapped my phone and has been monitoring all my web
surfing
activities for 2.5yrs and completely dehumanized me.
The FBI agents have been following me 24X7X60X60 everywhere
including grocery stores, retail stores, malls,
restaurants and movie
theaters. The FBI agents who were following me have at
times
verbally and racially abused me in retail store and
grocery store
parking lots by shouting at me inanities.
One FBI agent once tried to ram into my car from behind
with a
comcast van and came within one inch of hitting me from
behind.
There was no traffic altercation between us and there was
no
traffic on the road. The FBI agent in the comcast van
never tried
to overtake me and was very angry at me and hated me for
no reason.
I have been unemployed for close to 3 yrs and When I send
resumes
to potential employers, the sadistic FBI agents who were
monitoring
my email and websurfing, have been badmouthing and
assasinating my
character with recruiters and jeopardizing my job
opportunities
for the last 2.5 yrs.
The FBI has been interfering in my personal life for no
reason.
The FBI has completely destroyed and denied me any sort
of privacy for 2.5 yrs. Each and every word I type and
post on
the web is being monitored and each and every email tapped.
The sadistic FBI has forced me to live like a virtual
prisoner
for 2.5 yrs with zero privacy and 24 hr real time video
focused
on me. I cant talk to friends, family members and
prospective
employers without the fear of being over heard and
recorded.
I am afraid of doing everything and anything without fear.
I am not a terrorist. I am not even a muslim. I dont have
any muslim friends. I am not a drug smuggler. I did not
kill
anybody. I did not threaten to kill anybody. I dont have
a
record like gottis or escobars. I do not have any prior
criminal record. Why should I suffer all this harassment
and
constant loss of privacy for such an extended period of
time.
I feel completely naked infront of the world and it has
been
like that for a couple of years.
I am not familiar with US legal system that much. Can
somebody
tell me why the sadistic FBI has such ridiculous
amount of power to harass and mentally torture me. WHy do
the
FBI has the right to think they are God and they are
always right.
WHy should my life depend on what the FBI thinks of me.
Why should
I be put through so much pain and suffering. Why do the
FBI has the
right to deny me privacy for so long. Who gave the FBI
the right to interfere
in my personal life and bad mouth and assasinate my
character with
potential employers. Why are the FBI agents telling
employers not
to hire me. As it is, it is very difficult to find a job
in this
economy and whatever few opportunities I get are being
screwed
by these fbi sadists.
On what basis, the FBI installed a gps device in my car
and tracking
me like an animal. On what basis did the FBI wire tap my
phone.
On what basis did the FBI tap and monitor my web
activities
and email for 2.5 yrs. I feel as if I was put in a 6x6
cell with
24X7 video focused on me and fbi agents standing around
the cell
and constantly poking me with sticks.
One undercover FBI agent sent an email and called me a
dumbass.
His email is sfrank9@aol.com and his ebay id is
spodekmodek.
Lot of FBI agents are harrassing me 24X7 in vehilces with
michigan title plates UFX 210 (white SUV), XRA 155 (black

Assume everything I said is true and somebody with legal

CES Announcements and MM2
The annual tradition of making significant announcements at the Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) continues... on Wednesday Bill Gates made the keynote
address to the attendees, Press Releases have been streaming out, and some
websites are overloaded with traffic.
... so what's in it for users of Movie Maker 2? - here's two things I see:
1... The first of a new boxed 2-disc set of movies is now available for
purchase. The movie is Coral Reef Adventure which was made for IMAX
Theatres. The first disc in the set isn't that newsworthy as it is a
standard DVD. But the second disc is a new WMV-HD disc (High Definition),
which has two copies of the movie in WMV format. The WMV files have over 6
times the resolution of the DVD version. And the movie is really great.
One copy is 1280x720 and runs smoothly on my laptop, which meets the
recommended minimum CPU of 2.4 GHz. The other copy is 1440x1080 and doesn't
run smoothly for me.... it needs the recommended 3.0 GHz CPU.
For Movie Maker 2 users, I studied the parameters of the 1280x720 file and
made a custom profile so I can take my widescreen holiday videos and produce
them at those settings... the only thing I had to compromise on was the
audio... MM2 is limited to 2 channel stereo and the disc has 5.1 sound.
I put a copy of my custom profile on the website and updated the Saving
Movies > Custom WMV Profiles page with some info and a link to it...
2... DVD players that support the WMV format are on the horizon for April...
I updated the CD Burning > HighMAT page of my website and included a few
links... The error message when clicking on the Apex link seems due to '...
the amount of traffic exceeds the Web site's configured capacity...'

Movie file too big to copy from hard disk
I have created an edited movie that is almost 15GB... my hard drive is a 30GB and I can't create enough temp file space to copy the movie over to a DVD or DV-Camera...
My questions are these:
1. Is there a way to compress the original capture file to a smaller size than the 15GB?
2. The eidted master file for the movie is only 1.5GB (about 50 mins of content) ... is there someway to delete the original capture keep the edir file and then 'compress' the original capture.
3. I've tried freeing disk space but I don't have enough resident on the C: drive... I have an external drive E: that can hold 120GB. Can I use that as a temp storage swap drive?
4. I can't even copy the original capture to my external because it's just too big to come out of my laptop...
any ideas will be greatly appreciated as this project took me 4 days of editing and I'd hate to start from scratch...

Help with editing audio in mm2 needed - please
I have created a project with a series of video clips
(with audio) interspersed with the odd title page and
still photo.
What I now want to do, is to overlay some audio/music
soundtracks that only play during the title pages or over
selected stills, allowing the sound of the video to play
when they come into view.
Therefore, I'm looking at being able to set the
audio/music to fade out when it comes to a selected
point, the video/audio comes in at this point, then the
music audio fades back in at the selected point, which
would be at the end of a video section.
However, I do not want to keep re-starting the same
music/audio at the beginning, basically, I want to mute
or pause the music at certain points for specific
durations.
It seems a basic requirement to me but this is the first
time I've done anything like this and I can't find a way
of doing it.
Can it be done and how?
Many Thanks

MM2 movie skips during title pages on DVD, problem not present in preview
Ok, I've made several movies in MM2, they look and sound
great in preview on MM2. I am saving them as DV-AVI files
and using Roxio ECDDVDC to burn to DVD. When I preview
the movie in Roxio, it looks fine.
However, the movie on the DVD stalls, and stutters
(including audio cutout, dropped frames, etc.) during
titles. If the titles are animated the problem is worse.
I exported the movie back to my camcorder and it played
just fine, however, when I re-imported the movie from the
camcorder into a new MM2 project and burned the resulting
movie, it had all the same problems the first dvd had.
I have no problems with audio cutout or skipping during
transitions, and again, everything looks fine, even when
previewed in roxio. Tag: Burn to DVD Tag: 9995

only audio, but no video in timeline playback
A few weeks ago I posted this:
Whenever I try to play the full timeline back in MM2, it
plays the sound but doesn't display the clips or titles.
(It won't even preview title text whilst I'm setting up a
title).
However, it will play both the sound and pictures for
individual clips from the collection before I place them
on timeline. The timeline only has a couple of very very
short clips, so there shouldn't be a length/size of clip
issue.
The same computer also still has MM1 on and will
successfully playback the timeline in that version.
and I received this reply:
If they are MPEG2 clips, it's probably a codec issue.
The clips I've tried are a WMV's but I've also tried
with avi files & still have same problem. Have installed
WMP9 for Windows XP, but still no joy.
