I had this problem and tried this newsgroup.

Then I tried all the suggestions made but still had the same result.

I then clicked on "show storyboard" and then clicked the + magnifying glass.
As I scrolled from the end of my video to the end of the blank space, I came
accross a small audio file that some how got stuck near the end of the blank
space. I deleted that file and my video snapped back to the place I expected
it to be. Just when you think you know it all, some other thing pops up.

Finally I am done.

good ending.... the clue to knowing when to that kind of search is in the
overall duration of the project timeline.... if you are looking at the end
of the last clip and it's at the 10 minute mark, but the figure under the
monitor is showing 15 minutes, then you have a stray at the 15 minute mark.
