    - Help Please! No Audio during timeline play. When I place a video clip in the timeline, and try to preview it, there is no sound. And when I save the movie, the saved movie has no audio either.     - Movie played on DVD player for TV is choppy I have a Sony Handycam TRV22 and saved the video to my computer using a USB. When watching the video it was beautiful. Then I used my Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 to make a DVD movie gift with photos and the video. The photo part was beautiful, but the video was awful, blocky, choppy, etc. I had that program adjust it for TV DVD viewing but something didn't work. Is there a way to record a DVD for TV in the Movie Maker 2? (I am brand new to all this technology and need some guidance of where to go, etc.) Thank you for any and all help!     - Movie Maker not Reading my Camera i'm using a canon ZR50mc camcorder and a dell running XP. i've installed a fire wire card and have sucessfully used it to capture video from my camera. within the last couple days, something changed and now the computer does one of two things. it either does not recognize the device at all or it does for a couple minutes and then goes back to not recognizing it. this problem first happened about two or three months ago. everything was fine.... the computer and camera were talking, then one day i get error message saying that no device is connected. it connects and shows the camera and then five minutes later, the connection dissapears. so i quit for a couple weeks out of frustration and buy another fire wire. after replacing the fire wire i am able to connect again with no problems. that lasts for a couple weeks and just recently i'm back to the same problems. it seems to coincide with my installing updates. any help will be greatly appreciated.     - transfer movies back to tape I connected my sony digital video camera (dcr-trv330 to my new Inspiron 9200 thru a firewire.     - capture problem I just got a new JVC digital camcorder and when I try to capture video with Movie maker, i get an error message that says something along the lines of "too many interfaces..to fire" or something like that, and I am unable to capture video directly from the camera. I am using USB connection since I don't have a Firewire option, yet. I can capture the video using the Imagemixer software that came with the camer, but it is not real convient to use for editing, in my opinion.     - Playing moviemaker movie through sony dvd player My D.V.D player will not play my moviemaker movie which i have copied to cd using the process in moviemaker. I tried to burn it to cd using Nero but it will not copy themovie,it says it needs mpeg or avi files.     - Capturing video I have a brand new Panasonic PV-GS12 digital video camera. I can't figure out how to capture from it to my (likewise brand new) Dell Dimension 4700 with Windows XP Professional and Windows Movie Maker on it. I am using a USB cable as I lack a firewire port (sadly). Windows MovieMaker gives me a "I don't detect a media device" sort of an error message when I try to capture.     - Video saves as .AVI in 99% of the elapsed storyboard time I have created a movie with MSWMM 5.1 on a Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz with an essentially empty hard drive and 2 GB or RAM. I have been saving as DV/AVI (NTSC). I had the problem of audio skips, so I saved the Audio/Music track separately as a .WAV file, and then saved the Video/Transition/Title Overlay tracks separately (for eventual merger). The Audio/Music track saved on the exact same timeline as in MSWMM, to the second. The video tracks save to a file that is only 99% as long as the storyboard in MSWMM (i.e. in MSWMM the video was 30:07 min on the storyboard, but the resultant .AVI file is only 29:48 min, or 99% of the original timeline). It is therefore impossible to subsequently synch the audio and video. I'm at a loss, please help. I think this may be what is causing the audio skips people have been complaining about.     - no audio using dvc-80 ive been using a dvc-80 to capture video and audio from a sony hi-8 video camera. Using windows movie maker 1, i was able to successfully get the video and audio to playback but now when i import the video, i get no audio when i playback in any form(playing clip in windows media player). I was wondering if i was using the wrong input device. My options are soundmax digital audio(figuring my sound card), dvc 80 16k 16 bt audio(2), Dazzle dvc 80 audio(2), modem #2 line record.     - Picture size in Windows Movie Maker I have put all my pictues in and burned to a DVD disc. Problem is some of my pictures are to large for the frame. I have tried resizing them to make smaller but this did not help. I see on the storybook mode the pictures are a little oversized but how do I get them in the frame so they fit correctly?     - Subdividing a Project Further to Subject - Project Preview of 12/5/2004. I have converted all the appropriate files as suggested by John Kelly and Graham Hughes and have had some improvement but still unable to save.     - How do I get sound? First attempt at using Movie Maker. I can import the video from my camcorder but not the sound. Reading the info on sounds says you can do this only with an ANALOG camera. Hi I've been trying to get wmm to work for ages but nothing ever seems to work I have XP Home whenever I try to import an avi clip it says: The file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Kylie\Rurouni Kenshin - 12.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again. Where can I download codecs?     - MM2 and dark image in observer window The camera is a JVC GR DVL 805 Digital movie camera. It came with a cable that fits into the camera on 1 end and the other fits into the computer, a fairly recently built one. It is USB and the other is Firewire. The thing I noticed though, is that the monitor window in MM2 shows the images taken at night very dark, almost black, whereas on the monitor window of the camera they were fine. Is that attributable to MM2? The images look very normal, considering it was taken at night, in the viewfinder and camera flip-out screen. What might be the problem? Now, I'm still using 2.0 and am trying to add video transitions& effects but each time I drop them to the storyline the program ends immediately.     - Can't burn to CD I see someone else has the exactly the same problem as me (computerilliterate an 21st Dec), so at least it is not a one off. When I try to burn a movie to CD it says it is preparing the movie, gets to 58%, and will go no further. I have to cancel, at which point I get a message that it has not finished saving the movie and am I sure? Any suggestions? I am using XP Home SP2. Or how about a work round?     - No Audio from Video in Timeline Preview I've made a couple of short videos with MM, and I've never had any problems. The other day, I started a new project, and placed a few clips in the timeline. When I previewed it, all of sudden, there was no audio. When I highlight the clip in the folder, and hit play on the preview screen, there is audio, but when I highlight the timeline and hit play, it doesn't play the audio. Also, at the same time, I have no system sounds for my computer. I've checked all of the drivers and audio settings and everything seems fine.     - OT: soundtrak suggestions please Hi everyone, I could use some suggestions from fellow users. I'm putting together a slide show of my son's first year to give to my parents and in-laws for Christmas. He was born 12/30/2003, and I have some great pictures and video to use. My problem is I'm having a hard time thinking of a good song to put along with my pictures. I've got Louis Armstrong's "Wonderful World", but that's just a little over 2 minutes long, so I need another song (or two) to fill out my aproximately six minutes of pictures and video. I thought about using a few songs from the Baby Einstein soundtrak, but those don't really go well with Wonderful World (and I really want to use that one since a number of the beginning pictures are in the delivery room right after he was born and when we first brought him home). When I connect my DV Camcorder (using Firewire) to my
computer (running XP), a video capture program other than
MS Movie maker automatically starts up. How can I set
Movie maker to automatically start up instead of the
other program?
