During project preview my audio plays back fine (downloaded mp3 file).
However, when Isave the project as a movie, the audio is somewhat distorted,
it plays but sound bad. Do I need to change audio file formats or is there
something else I am missing.

When you publish your movie are you saving as a .wmv or .avi? Which ever try
the other format and see if it makes a difference.

Converting to WAV should definietely help. Convert the MP3 to WAV 16 bit
stero 48KHz using some other software such as SIMPLE or Audacity.
