    - Movie Maker Well i have been using movie maker fine untill about a couple of weeks ago when i went to go add some pictures and songs but it did not accept it so i changed the format and it still did not work and ive reinstalled movie maker. It does not except any picture format or any song format it wont take anything and sometimes when i restart movie maker a picture will pop up like i added it but then when i go to put it in the story board nothing happens.     - DVD Maker error I am currently running Windows Vista Home Premium. I have saved a movie in Movie Maker and I'm trying to publish it to DVD. Everytime I open the file in DVD maker i recieve an error message that DVD maker is not working and windows willnotify me if there is a solution. I have published a movie before. I checked my system for any updates to the driver, but all is correct. I changed the speed from fastest to medium with no results. This is a very special project for my dad who is very seriously ill.     - What settings are used in Vista's movie maker's "publish movie" options I really want Vista's Movie Maker (I realize this is the windowsxp.moviemaker group, but I didn't see one for Vista moviemaker) to be able to do batch encodes, as I have a lot of .mpg's to encode, but I've not been able to figure out a way to get it to do a batch, if it's even possible. Having said that, I really like the quality I get when I publish a movie, select "More Settings" and choose "Windows Media DVD Quality (3.0 Mbps). When I select that I see the following "Movie Settings": Bit rate: 3.0 Mbps Display size 720x480 pixels Aspect ration 4:3 Frames per second: 30 As I mention above, this produces a quality level I'm happy with, and it's pretty fast, but I can't batch. I've tried to replicate these settings in a .prx file and use it in the Windows Media batch encoder...and while it produces movies of the same quality, and I can batch, it's at least 2-4 times slower doing it than Movie Maker. I'm trying to get the best of all worlds and get the quality, speed, and batch ability. Below are the settings I'm using in my .prx file. Does someone know of a setting below I can use to make my batch encodes faster, does someone know of a way to batch in Movie Maker, or is there some better way to accomplish all 3 of my objectives?     - Saving Movie Files - Hung Hi, I created a 1:30sec movie and am saving to my computer. I went through the Save Movie Wizzard to start the process. I see the status bar as it's saving. It gets to 99% and hangs there. If I try to cancel out, it says it's still saving do you want to quit. I say no. It's been saving for 30 minutes. It was a 24 meg file. I have 300 gigs of free space. I have a P4 2.0 gighertz, 1 meg RAM. The movie played fine within Movie Maker. I check task manager, and Windows Movie Maker is running as opposed to not responding. My CPU usage is at 98-100%.     - Burning a movie I created a movie using MovieMaker, the problem is; it will only play half of the movie but the background music will still play on to the last song.     - NEED VIDEO IN THREE DAYS FOR MY WEDDING!!!!! HELP!! Ok, I'm about to go nuts here. I am getting married in three days. I have been working on putting together a video presentation for the reception and have spent no less than 60 hours working on this. Mainly because Movie Maker keeps screwing everything up! Ok, I have the 2.1 version. I have 4 songs, I have no idea how many pictures and every picture has a transition with about 4 title overlays total. I have a DELL 3100 that is relatively new. Every time I try to save the file and burn it to a CD which will be played on a laptop and projected onto a wall at the reception, I have problems. It will say that is has saved but when I go to watch it, it stops in the middle or it keeps going with the music but not the pictures or just jams up altogether and won't save at all. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been reading posts but to be honest, I am so burned out at this point, I'm ready to scream. I SO want this to work! I read a post about saving the file as a DVI file to your hard drive and then trying to burn it to a a CD. Does anyone know if this will give me the same quality video for playback as the "local playback for 2.1" option you can use when burning to a CD? Because that quality is great...however it won't save all the way. I'm at 65% saved at this point saving it to my desktop as a DVI. But I'm scared that it's again not going to save correctly or that if it does, when I try to burn the desktop version to my CD, I'm again going to have problems. When I capture video from it, the video appears "blocky" and in very bad color quality. I have used the exact same tape, camera, and wire to capture to a different computer, and it turns out completely fine.     - WMM hang - Memory page faults ? Clear list ? I am occasional user of WMM V2.1.4026.0 Physical memory = 1gb. AMD 3200+ Issues creating a movie from my digital camera: details on app locking up below. Anyway to tweak XP SP2 to " work nicely" with WMM ? I see WMM page faults a lot and wondering WHY ? It shows 49k in use and it's page faulting ? I see lots of free memory -why is it pagefaulting ? I manually set virtual memory pagefile to 2gb - 4gb I have VM set to have Windows autoadjust - same thing I do find that if I create a project and save it frequently as I'm building it it works fine. But in a few months I'll forget and after a hang or two, then I'll remember to save it - exit - reopen - add etc. Is the "trick" just to save the project to disk often ? While building a movie using jpg's and avi's from my digital camera, I can add files/video until movie is 5,6,7, minutes long and then I'll go to add one more thing and it locks up. Task Mgr shows 99% of CPU usage and memory usage will increment by 2 ,8 maybe 20 pages. Page faults will show a few times a minute. Then I remember " this happened last time too". It'll hang the job forever. Just prior to me clicking on the next video name, I might have added a file , sometimes I would have played the movie back a bit with no sign of a problem. But JUST AS I click on that next item - it locks up: the WMM window will not respond. I don't know " Was the reason for the hang the fact that I clicked on that next avi to add, or had it really hung while playing back ?" If I click on my " desktop" shortcut, the desktop responds, I can go to the internet / email etc - everything else is fine. If I didn't know that job was hung, I'd never notice. Are you sure it is the i-link cable and not a usb one?
If it is ilink, then try another cable, that one could be faulty. Although
audio/video is carried by the same cable it can be that video gets through
and audio doesn't.
If you get the same result with another cable, then look at trying your cam
and cable on another pc and another digital camcorder on your pc.

This will tell us if anything is faulty.
