    - Capture window is like a negitive overlay When I go to windows movie maker and click on capture it goes to the capture window and when using the web cam or video camera the picture in the capture window is pink green yellow like a negitive or overlay,and it it hard to see what you are capturing does any know what to do about this issue? it used to be ok like a regular pic but all of a sudden it changed to the negitive look So can anybody help me on this to correct it?     - Import just parts of a video tape When importing video in MM, you seem to be invited to import the whole tape or just parts of it. Except you can't just import parts!     - uploading video I have a Sony Handycam and have been trying to upload files into Movie Maker. The files are identified as video_ts files. They will not upload although I can view them in Power DVD and windows media player. I am at my wits end with this and would really like to get the videos into the program.     - Title overlays I am having trouble putting titles on my photos because no matter what color I pick for the letters it ends up matching the picture so you cannot see the words. I saw a video where the person had white letters with a black shadow around them, so they showed up against any background.     - Find / Replace for pictures I am a super novice, but I was able to make a movie with still pictures, music and title overlays. I added transitions, and adjusted the length of the pictures to fit the music. It is for the JDRF Diabetes Walk for a Cure, and has pictures of my daughter. She has two diabetic friends that we want to use the same format, just plug in their pictures, keeping the transitions, titles and timing the same. But when I try to replace a picture, I end up having to add the new one, delete the old, and then adjust the timing. I am looking for a Find / Replace option that just switches photos.     - mswmm "save movie" and nero audio issue Help-I edited and saved two "projects" then saved as a "movie"(s). I open nero "smartessentials" and create a dvd. I browse to "add video files." I add both wmv files. When I preview to either add chapters or just preview, the audio is corrupted. I successfully burn dvd's with MovieMaker using the exact same clips/files, and play them using mm, nero, and a plain dvd player. But if I try to put 1 or more files together using nero, the audio corrupts. I found "filter" options in mm, and I unchecked them (4 Nero filters listed) per mm instructions to supposedly resolve "conflicts" or "issues...".     - DVD Authoring Next question, I do have Nero, I have text boxes set up to denote the next family in my DVD project and would like to put my chapters there, but the slider bar isn't stopping on my text boxes and the music I put in overlaps into the next families, can that cause a problem?     - Rendered Video Crop Cuts Off Top of Frame Hello, I am importing .avi format video 512x384 30fps into MovieMaker from a GoPro Hero3 camera. I have a clip in which most of the relevant detail is at the very top of the frame. Whenever I render to .wmv file (NTSC 4:3), the frame is cropped so that I lose the data I am trying to follow. I have tried no effects and also the Pixelan A1 Hold effect. Both have the same problem. I also tried most of the available output format options in MovieMaker (High Res Video, NTSC, etc.), all result in same crop/clip problem. Does anyone know why my rendered video is getting cropped so that the top ~5% of the frame is lost? Related question: Available output formats for NTSC 4:3 seem to support very small 160 pixels wide, small 320x240, larger 640x480, and 720x480. I am sure there are a few more options for PAL and 16:9. However, I cannot find a way to render to output 512x384 to match my input resolution. Is there a way to render 512x384 resolution?     - Clips I have a family DVD I have done, is there a way to go in now and add numbers (clips -i assume is how it is termed) so that I can seperate the 10 families on this DVD, for example my great grandparents as Clip 1 and then my great uncles' family as clip 2 and so on, so that there is a number seperation, like when you are watching movie DVD's, so that if you wanted to skip to a particular family, you could do that?? -- becca Tag: Audio on Playback help please Tag: 63310

    - Can't save as a movie file OK, I am pretty adept at WMM. I got a newer computer to be able to handle the requirements of video editing etc. However, after a few months of success (also having converted analog to digital and edited it, movie maker will no longer allow me to save my projects (long OR short--and I mean even 2 minutes here) as an AVI-DV file. I refuse to save as anything else as I want to keep the quality (especially of my DV stuff). I have spent HOURS with MS support and am on level 3 at present but STILL they cannot figure out the problem. When I save as AVI-DV, it starts to save and the minutes count down, but then they stop and begin to count up to infinity if I'd let them. HELP!!! The whole reason I bought this new computer was so I could do these videos of family footage to give as Christmas presents. PLEASE help! Mr. Inzer---I've seen a lot of your replies and hope you have some ideas. And yes, I have Explorer 7 but have always had it on this machine even when MMaker was working fine. The problem I'm encountering is that when the movie is played on the browser it doesn't start back again automatically.     - Transistion noise I am using Window Vista Ultimate with GeForce Go 7400 graphics card. I have trouble in transition quality. The transitions affects video slighty with some noisy lines.     - Editing/Trimming-Can you delete portions?? First time using Windows Movie Maker and I am hoping to delete portions of my 28 min clip but I am not sure I can do this with MovieMaker. Simply put I would like to trim my movie by removing portions. But the clip trimming seems to just allow me to keep the portion that I trim and not the opposite. I create a public access tv shows on real estate in my area and I want to be able to edit the videos on my desktop. Today i wanted to continue my movie, but i got a poppin' screen that says: Niet geÃ¯mplementeerd (in Dutch), in English i think it's: non implemented All my pictures and songs are still in the large box, but not in the timeline!!     - Can't import .MPG files anymore Many times I imported .MPG files from my Sony DSC-T9 photo camera in Movie Maker (version 5.1 build 2600.xpxp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300:ServicePack 2), vs. 2.1.4026.0). Suddenly it didn't work anymore. After selecting the .MPG file I get a message that an error occured and that Movie Maker shuts down. It also occurs with older .MPG files which I imported successfully in the past.     - Capture From DVDs Using a JVC DVD recorder I have transferred all of my VHS and Video 8 tapes to DVDs and subsequently to the hard drive. Now I would like to edit the films in Movie Maker. The files have a .C00 and .C01 extension and I cannot find software that will read it.     - Adjusting audio fade in/out durations I'm using Movie Maker 6.0 from my Vista.. I'm adjusting the audio on my video clips and music files to fade in and out but the time that the program takes to fade out a song from full volume to silence is very short - so short that it's not far from sounding like I'm not using the fade at all. I know I can adjust how long the video Fades are in the Transitions menu, but can I do this with audio fades?     - Movie Maker keeps closing down Hi, as the title says my MM keeps closing down on me, I don't even get an error message when it happens. Ive restarted my comp, tried it again, same thing happens. I was gonna uninstall it to reinstall it again, but I cant find it in the remove programs list, so I tried to just reinstall over it, but still the same problem.     - Shuts off without notice Hi! I'm in desperate need of some help here. Checked papaJohn's site but it all flew over my head, really. So if anyone could explain this to me in a way I can understand I'd be eternally grateful! Didn't have so much trouble with Movie Maker in the beginning, but starting a few months ago it crashed whenever I imported a too large file and cut out some scenes.     - Editing clip names When I sort clips by NAME which is the date and time (2/21/2002 9:23 AM) I get clips out of time sequence because of the way the dates and time are created. It would have to be 2002/02/21 03:04:37 AM or yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:33 ap to sort in the correct time sequence. Can I go to some file and correct this or do I have to rename each clip?     - Titles In my Windows XP version of MM I had more choices of title animations. I was able to put titles on the clips in different locations and there were many more effects. Now that I have Windows Vista MM 6.0, the title animations are very limited. The titles only display in the middle of the clip, and there are very few animations.     - Highest Resolution for Slides? Hi, I used MM a year ago to make a slide show in .wmv format (with great results) and am trying to relearn some of the finer points I've forgotten. (I prefer MM to PS mainly because I find it easier to synch the images to music.) I am making another slide show of about 300 digital photos. All of my images were taken with a 4mp digicam and edited in Photoshop, but left at their native resolution of 2272x1704x72dpi. I did a trial run and tried to save my project as a .wmv file, using a profile I think I downloaded from PapaJohn's site last year: SlideShow-1024x768WMV9. (I am aiming for the absolute highest quality possible.) When I went to create the .wmv file, I got an error message about the file size being too big or something to that effect. Is this the FAT-32 issue that I've read about in other posts on this forum? If using the above profile, should I downsize my images to 1024x768? Will that affect final output quality? I ran another test with the images at 800x600, but while it wrote the .wmv file, the image quality was noticeably less. I then did a third test, using only about 60 images - but still at 2272x1704 - and it turned out fabulous. So I guess my question is: Are the images sized at 2272x1704 wasting pixels and increasing the file size unnecessarily, given the limitations of the 1024x768 output? And if this isn't a FAT-32 issue, are there any other workarounds? I was thinking I could break the project into 5 or 6 smaller increments and reassemble (I have BlazeMediaPro which can do this) but am unsure of how the stitch points will look, and would have to separate them by musical piece. Additionally, I would not be able to put transitions at those points, either, and between songs are some of the more obvious places to have transitions. Sorry for the long-winded post.     - WAIT AND WAIT When I import videos from my hard drive, I must wait and wait and wait for the first video to show up my collection as the importing file message lingers along endlessly.     - Help! WMM2.1 crashing - blue screen My system: Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, SP2 - AMD Athalon 64 Processor, 3400+, 2.20 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM, Physical Address Extension. I've been using WMM2.1 without problems. Recently it started to hang/freeze up when I was capturing video (from my Sony Digtal Handycam via firewire). Now it is just crashing. I come back to it and the computer has restarted - recovered from "serious error." The Windows error reporting displays a page that says it's a device driver problem. I don't know what this could be. I've tried a number of things I've seen online, including unchecking, moving the temp file to my recently defragmented "D" drive, I don't display preview during capture. I don't understand codecs, but I have a lot of .ax files show up (81) when I search for them in My Computer. Only two come up in the compatibility window of WMM2.1 (both from Nero). I've tried unchecking them, but that doesn't help. Please help me. I have video of my baby boy that I want to edit and share. I don't understand why this stopped working. VDoc I'm getting the same problem...I have Vista home Premium, I was trying
to send my file to a DVD R..and it wouldnt work it said: not a recordable
DVD..So then I went to using DVD"-R"'s...and everything is great now, except
the audio is missing when played on a normal DVD player. It works fine when
played back through the computer...HELP!????
