    - Moveimaker 2 file will not open in 2.1 I have 2 computers both with XP Pro. I created some movie porjects in MM2 on my desltop which does not have SP2. I copied the applicable files to my laptop (clips and MM file) but when I try to open the project on the laptop - it says that the file is not one that MM can open. What is going on here?     - Wrong Video Size I have created a movie from two clips both of 720x576 resolution. I choose to save the new movie with the profile DV-AVI PAL which states that it will create a movie of 720x576 resolution. But when I play the created movie in windows media player (view size 100%) it is streched to 768x576. The original two files plays properly. Anyone now how to get the correct size?     - No Video After Saving After saving my MM2 movie (about 600 jpg's with MP3 music), the saved .wmv (created with the 'Save to my computer' option) shows only the beginning 3 title pages, then hangs displaying the last title screen, and continues for the next hour with music only. It plays fine from within MM, just fails from the saved file. Also, I notice that the saved file is only about 54 MB instead of the aprox. 450 MB it says it is saving at creation time. So I assume something is going wrong in the save process and the video is not getting saved. I didn't get any error messages during the save process and have plenty of disk space. Ideas?     - Video quality Hi, i'm making a video with MM2 from some .jpg that have a resolution that exceed 1024x768 but when i save the video on my hard disk and play it, the image in full screen is not in 1024x768 but in 640x480 or at most 720x550.     - Collection Created in MM1 and now trying to access them in MM2 Hi. I've spent countless hours creating my collections of movie clips in MM1 and now I got another (more powerful and newer) computer that has MM2 on it. When I opened up MM2, none of my collections were there- but I could get the video I captured from my video camera (but it was clipped). I jumped on the forum and read papajohn's post re: getting the collection backup file (mine was called "Windows Movie Maker.COL" since it was a MM1 file). When I tried to paste the file in the recommended folder... \Documents and Settings\UserAccountName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Movie Maker...but I didn't even have a folder for Movie Maker. Thus, I created one in the Microsoft Folder so that the path would be duplicated as recommended. However....no collections are still present. Any tips on getting a .col file to work in MM2?     - Questions about Movie Maker I would like to burn a slide show of family pictures onto a DVD...but Nero's DVD creation software is not quite up to par. I am unable to locate version 2 in Windows Update.     - Movie Maker 2.1 Crashing I'm not sure if the problem I'm having is related to XP SP 2 or not because I think it might've been happening before that. The problem I have is that Movie Maker hangs and does not respond. This primarily happens when I'm in the process of capturing video. I'm able to capture video if I do short clips, but the longer I go into the process, the more of a chance there is that it will crash. One way I can tell that it's about to crash is if no preview is being displayed when I'm playing the video on the camcorder (not capturing). It has crashed at other times as well, but it crashes just about every time I try to capture something. I have a Sony Digital 8 Camcorder and I'm capturing through a firewire. It seems that somehow the camcorder and my computer stop communicating during the process. However, I've done a test capture using WinDV, and it seems to work fine. But, it does seem to be a little choppy in places when doing the test capture.     - Loosing Entire Audio / Music when using slo motion clips in AVI ou I am trying to make a Youth Sports highlight music video. If I try to export to DV-Tape or any AVI based file, I loose the entire Audio / Music part ONLY during the slow motion parts. Audio is fine any other time. I need the AVI based file to be able to burn a DVD. WMV versions run fine. I have captured the clips from my sony TVR740 thru sony DV-Motion via (1394) on a VAIO desktop. The clips I am having problems with contain parts of it in Slow Motion. (I play the cam corder tape in slow motion, and have DV motion capture it that way.) I then import the clip, (the video clip's audio naturally mutes when in the slo motion parts.) ( I have also tried to Mute the Video sound track without any improvement) I have imported a MP.3 music file for the Audio/ Music track.     - Slide show works now but poor video Thanx to Papa Johns posts I figured out how to make a slide show work from my DVD player. First I used the TPMG encoder to make an Mpeg 1 then I used the CDEasy software link I found on Johns web site. I was thrilled that it worked but the pics during the slide show are very poor quality. I use a 3.1 mp dig cam and the pics were taken on the lowest resolution setting. Could the low resolution setting be the reason for the poor quality? I can increase the resolution but then I only get about 20 pictures. It only has an 8 meg CF card and it only supports up to a 32 mg. Should I get a new camera that supports more memory and use it on the high resolution setting? Or......should I save the movie file as an DV-AVI file and then make an Mpeg 2 and then use the CDEasy softwware?     - Movie Maker - Error Message PROBLEM: I keep getting the following error message when attempting to use Movie Maker 2.1 to catpure VHS to DVD - " THE VIDEO DEVICE CANNOT BE USED A THIS TIME BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN AN ERROR WHEN STARTING THE DEVICE:. OBJECTIVE: To record my old VHS tapes, full length, to DVD for safekeeping and also to create MPEG-2 movie clips from these VHS tapes for import/editing with mixed photo/video productions. BACKGROUND: I have a Dell XPS Media Center packaged PC. I have Media Center Edition (MCE) 2004 with the ATI e-Home Wonder PCI TV Tuner card installed. I am wired from ny VCR's (JVC HR-3912U) S-Video OUT to the S-Video IN on the tuner card and the L/R Audio OUT is wired to the tuner card with single stero jack. The VCR is wired to my cable box using the appropriate S-Video & L/R Audio wiires to receive TV programs (RF is disconnected). After starting MCE MyTV, I receive pciture/audio just fine so I assume nothing is wrong with the tuner card. I recently downloaded Service Pack 2 which inlcuded the Movie Maker 2.1 PRODEDURES I FOLLOWED LEADING UP TO ERROR: 1. I started Movie Maker 2.1 ok 2. I selected the Capture from Video Device wizard 3. Under [Available devices:] I selcted [ATI e-home Wonder Capture ICON] 4. Under [Audio input source:] I selected [Anolog Mix] 5. Under (Video input source:] I selected [S-Video] 6. I enterred the file name to capture video. 7. After hitting NEXT the above error message appears.     - Saved Video - Negative Color ?? I have a Bt848 based video capture card. Old and unsupported now days. But i works none the less with DScaler and seems to work ok with Widows Movie Maker. I've been able to capture video, the video in the preview and playback window appear ok, proper color etc - inside the Movie Maker program.     - MM2 Doesn't See the Disc I've successfully created a movie in MM2 (first one ever) and want to burn it to a recordable CD. The issue I'm having is that when I click 'Recordable CD', I get a message that there is no disc in the recordable CD drive.     - Very Fast (3-4x) Capture Speed When capturing digital video from my Sony Digital Handicam 730, I am trying to capture and work as DV-AVI so I can have the best quality and burn DVD's. When using this setting, the video is captured at 3-4 times the correct speed. When I capture at the "High Quality Video" setting, the video captures properly. I am running Windows XP SP2 on a 2.8 mhz PC with 1GB of RAM and over 30GB or empty, unfragmented disk space. Ok, everytime i start my video from the timeline, everything works great
audio and video but when i burn it to a CD or just try to play it on windows
media player, i lose audio. Any help is greatly appreciated.
