VHS to DVD

I'm in the process of transferring some old home movies to DVD and I'm using
Movie Maker to capture my video footage and edit.

Well I haven't gotten too far. I can only see the first 37 seconds of my 22
minutes I've recorded.

If I open up the file directly (outside of Movie Maker) I can view the
entire video but can't edit it.

Can anyone help me?

How are you doing this? What hardware? Is MM splitting it into clips and you
are just viewing the first of many clips? Look in the collections pane to
see. What file format is the movie in when captured?

I hooked up my VCR through my Hauppague Win MCE150.

If it is splitting it into many clips, it is only showing me that one is
available on the screen. When I go to the collections screen it shows me
that I have a 37 second clip.

It is saving it as a wmv file

Try using the software which came with the hauppage card, as MM doesn't
always work well with analogure streams.
