Hello! I have noticed that whenever I add files to the WMP11 library
from a mounted network drive (e.g. E:\Media pointing to my server/
share), WMP11 will resolve the UNC name and store \\myserver\share
\Media instead of e:\Media.

Q: Is there any way to prevent this behaviour?

Background: As a mobile user I regularly change environments where
different servers will provide me with the same set of media files.
The servers are in sync, so they do have the same files. Yet, WMP11
will try to locate any given file on Server1 which might not be
available in Environment B and vice vesa. This is cumbersome.

Please advise.

Thank you & BR
Markus.

No, it's not possible and it's actually a bad idea, since for example that
drive letter could at any point be mapped to something else. Your specific
situation is more unique, but those are actually different files and the
player doesn't support arbitrary guessing to know that the file would always
be expected to be any random "e:" drive. (Which generally isn't a
supportable proposition.)

So: I get what you're saying, but no, it's not possible, sorry. =\
