    - WMP 11 Library Entries Point to Folders on Removable Disk - disapp I keep my media folders on an external USB hard drive, which I move around from machine to machine. I have added the drive letter and folder to the WMP11 monitored folders and also made it the default destination for ripping CD output. However, after removing the USB drive and reattaching it sometime later, the WMP11 library has "forgotten" about the folders and album information and must re-scan and repopulate the library catalog every time. Isn't there some way to tell the Librarian NOT to discard media entries for removable media that have been removed but will be re-connected in the future?     - WMP 11 - error C00D2728 Windows Vista Windows Media Player 11 DRM Version: 11.0.6000.6324 I'm trying to download OverDrive Media Console, and the program prompted me to install a security upgrade for Windows Media Player. Looking around in different forums, I found this site: http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/indivsite/indivit2.htm, but the Upgrade button is disabled. I haven't tried resetting the DRM license on my computer as I'm worried about losing the rights for songs I've purchased from iTunes. Any thoughts?     - WMP11 fails to open MP332 Hi all... Pleasant evening to you... Recently, I purchased a new portable media device, and downloaded two audiobooks. I was able to play them both in my ZEN as well as on my Base Con' with WMP11... To recoupe some memory, I decided to burn them to CD, and delete them from my hard drive. Then - upon researching to see if I had indeed orchestrated a workable backup archive, I cannot get WMP11 to open the files. They do show up on the E: drive as being there, in MP332 format, but I can't get them to open with WMP11 or Alsong. If anyone has any ideas, in an EZ to follow format, please shoot me a line and lend a hand. It's not life threatening, or anything dire, as I still have them in my ZEN, just curious as to what happened, and I don't want to make a disaster of a mistake NEXT time! Thanx in advance.     - Choppy Play of MP3s I am getting very frustrated with WMP 11. Playback of any of my MP3 files (and I have thousands) includes a gap, like a skip on cds or old LPs, at least 2 per minute. I have increased the Network Buffering setting from 5 to 40 seconds without any change in the problem. This is the only player that performs like this, and I also use Rhapsody and ITunes.     - Library I have a Dell Inspirion 700M, running Windows XP. I have had Windows Media Player 11 installed and working perfectly on my computer for a while. Recently, I installed a Windows Update and my entire Media Player library was deleted, and now I can't add anything back to it. When I select the folders I want Media Player to monitor, it just deletes the folders out as if I never selected them.     - cd burner I tried to burn a cd, but it says to connect a cd burner. I have the windows media player with the cd burner n all, but it won't burn.. I finished ripping it, n when I put the cd in to burn, pressed "burn" n it says to connect a burner and restart.. I thought the burner goes with the player on my pc?     - WMP Interface only shows extremely old GUI I've installed the latest version of WMP, but the interface still only shows the most rudimentary GUI: I see File, View, Play, Tools, Help in the toolbar and have no options for viewing playlists, libraries, etc - nothing like the viewer shown online or even when I go to my local help library.     - WMP 11 Anyone get this? Another Media Player question. Installed a new HD. Installed XP Home, no problem. Tried installing Media Player 11. It wouldn't install, so i tried reverting to MP 10. It says MP 10 isn't compatible with 'this version of Windows'. My Windows update automatically installed service pack 3 and apparently MP 10 is not compatible with the new service pack. Tried installing MP11 again, and again. It takes literally hours to install and at the end it says MP 11 couldn't be installed because of an error. It gives me error code 80070001. When tried finding out what it is on the Microsoft website I come up with nothing. Right now I'm using MP9 but I don't like the way it's laid out, so I'd really like MP10 or MP11. Anybody run into this, or maybe would have a clue? Thanks for any assistance. rowdy PS.     - Choppy Playback and Stuttering I am currently using a Compaq Presario C700 series notebook with Vista Home Premium on it. For whatever odd reason, whenever I try and play some songs, (all songs are .mp3) it stutters and jumps around almost as if it was a CD that had a scratch and was skipping. I have looked around but have haven't seen anyone else with this problem, except for the thing with the Dells, but that doesn't help me much. I'm running WMP 11. The strangest thing is that it only has this problem on some songs, and it seems to switch songs, sometimes it is one, and then if I go to play it at another time, it seems to be alright.     - Streamed files stuck in the file view and they won't delete??? I want to delete the history of the files played on my WMP but they won't go away. I read where I should be able to go to tools:options:privacy and delete the history. The problem is that privacy is not an option in my options selection.     - Programatically adding WindowsMediaPlayer gui Hi, I've tried adding a windows media player hook to a WPF window by adding the Windows Media Player com component to the toolbox, however no new entries were added to the toolbox. I am now trying to perform the same action programatically. I have made a WindowsMediaPlayer object which plays music and video fine, however I don't know how to get the control that actually displays the interface content (i.e. the video or visualisation window).     - open mulitple MP3 simultaneously When I select multiple media-files in a Windows Explorer, and press the enter button, WMP only opens one of the files, while it should create a new playlist with all selected files.     - WMP 11 won't play video links in I.E 7. Asks if I want to save fil In I.E. 7, when clicking a link that should start media player and play an mpeg video clip it brings a Download window and asks if I want to save the file. There is also a message saying "the file you are downloading cannot be opened by the default program, it is either corrupted or an incorrect file type". If I save the file WMP won't play it either reporting error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." This says "You've encountered error message C00D11B1" I've checked all the items on this with no joy. The saved file can be played with Winamp or GOM player ok.     - Windows Media Player Sharing problem with Vista I have problems with getting my WMP to share. It alsways comes up with the same problem "Media sharing bas been turned off because a required Windows setting or component has changed.....". I have no new component for a while and suspect it may be a recent update from microsoft that gives me the problem. I am normally connected to my Xbox with music, but that doesn't work anymore now.     - WMP Vista Ultimate (64bit) Codec problem!!!!!???? I am unable to play any music that is either shared in my network or recorded onto my hard drive by WMP11 in Vista Ultimate. I can see all the music loaded into my library or on my C drive, I can access the root files but it keeps telling me this message Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. Now, I know this is not the problem that the file type is incorrect because there are 6 other computers able to access the 1 TB hard drive where all the music files are saved in WMA at a VBR 320mbps. The music recorded on my computer's hard drive is coded by WMP11 so it cannot be in the wrong format. All the other computers, XP, XP professional, Vista Basic and Vista Home Premium are able to play any file on this remote (LAN) hard drive, this Ultimate Vista unit won't. The computer is an HP Pavillion Elite D5000T running Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 9550 @ 2.83 GHz with 8GB of DDR2-800MHz Dual Channel RAM with a 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT Video Card. 64 Bit system. It has 1 TB 7200 RPM drive so the computer is not lacking processing power. Can anyone tell me why the Media Player will not play the files? I have already contacted the HP and they logged into the computer and cannot figure out why this is happening. I cannot try to uninstall the program and reinstall because i do not have it and it is not on the Microsoft Website as a standalone. None of the Vista updates are relevant to this version as i tried those updates but the computer refused them as incompatible.     - Danger-Danger-Danger I allowed Microsoft to "update" Windows Media Player. It installed version 11 (I had 10). The next time I booted up, I got multiple Run DLL error loading popups, couldn't set a restore point (Restoration Incomplete - Software Distribution Service 3.0) and the computer tried to reload various software programs every time I tried to open anything. I had to call Dell (thank heavens I'm still under warrenty) and they couldn't "repair" it, so I had to reload the entire operating system and start from scratch.     - Error C00D11CD when syncing music to my phone In Windows Media 10 I get an unknown error message when trying to sync music to my phone. It has worked in the past, then I had trouble with my phone connecting to the computer (Connection Failed displayed on the phone) so I tried Downloading Windows Media 11. It recognized my phone but when I tried to sync from my sync list a different error message came up (8004005). I didn't like the new format of WM11 so I uninstalled it.     - media usage and burning. HELP!!! I am on Vista and am using Windows Media Center 11. I have been trying to download and burn songs on CD from a reputable music website. I have had problems just playing some of the songs. Now that I have fixed that problem I am encountering another. There are about 20 songs on my burn list and when I try to burn them I get an error message saying " At least one file in your list has been protected with media usage rights. Protected files will not play on car or portable CD players but may work on other computers if you download new rights on the other computer. Do you want to continue anyway." I tried burning the disk once and sure enough, it played on my computer, but not on my car player. I always make disks for my car so it is important that I can use the CD there. I have been back and forth with the on-line techs at the company and they are absolutely no help. I have already downloaded most of the songs twice due to the other problems I had. I noticed that when I go to the properties of each song, the usage rights are different. The songs I am able to burn have no usage rights and the other songs that I can't burn have usage rights that say you can burn up to 3 times etc. The people at the music website have not even addressed this as a possible cause of my problems.     - unwanted start up menu when burning music cd's I'm burning music cd's with the new windows media player 11 which apparently was created on my computer on June 13th. They play fine on my entertainment system because I can select how I want it to play via a start up menu that appears on my TV screen.     - problems w/syncing to my mobile device my pc: Windows XP Professional (build 2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300; Service Pack 2) Windows Media Player 11.0.5721.5230 my mobile device: Samsung Blackjack 2, Windows Mobile 6 Standard CE OS 5.2.1620 (build 18125.0.4.2) Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, version 10.3, build 18125 I had no problem syncing between my 4 Gb micro-SD card (in my phone) and my computer until about a week ago, when i had to do a hard reset on my phone. Post-reset I completely wiped my memory card, as the "key" that the phone uses to identify and access the files on the card had changed, therefore rendering the card useless in my phone. I am able to sync between the card and the computer, whether the card is inserted into my phone or I use a card reader. The files, when viewed from the card reader, show up fine either way, with the proper file hierarchy. The issue is that no matter how i sync, the files do not show up when i try to view/play them from my phone. I have tried resetting the sync relationship between both my phone and my micro-SD card and WMP, and had no luck. Of course, now it seems that I am also no longer able to end the sync relationship between either of them and WMP (even when i follow Microsoft's directions here - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/sync.mspx#q5_8). Other sound files on my phone's internal memory play normally, so I know that the mobile WMP is still working. Has anyone else had any issues like this? my PC. I used to have media sharing enabled, and media player is still
finding and allowing my xbox 360, but all I get on the xbox is that I dont
have any media centre PCs on my network. Any ideas?
