Hello,

I have an .avi file which I want to send by email to a friend. But it is too
big and is rejected by my isp.

All I really want to send is the soundtrack , eg a .wav or mp3 or something.

I have Vista with media player & moviemaker, can I use these to convert (I
have tried but cannot see how to do it)

Thanks

K

You can do this with Movie Maker by turning off the video track, I believe.

As Zach said - you can import the file to Moviemaker, delete the video
track and save-out as WMA.

Alternatively you could use a file-sending service such as Dropsend
http://www.dropsend.com/

Typically those services have send limits and storage duration may
only be a few days, so it's sometimes preferable to phone your friend
and tell them to pick up their email in which you send the location to
the file they can grab.

HTH
