Hi all,

Recently I had to get windows xp home re-activated. When I did I found out
that media player went back to version 10. I tried installing version 11
with no luck. I get an error 0x8070005. I can't find out how to fix this
problem. Can someone help please? thanks,

IMHO version 10 is better. WMP 11 caused me nothing but grief
and I reverted and am perfectly happy with WMP 10/

That should indicate a registry corruption on your machine:
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#setup11
covers how to trouble-shoot that. Lemme know if there's anything you want
clarified there. =)

Hi,

I went to the web site but, since I am blind it is not very speech friendly.
I can't get any information on how to fix my problem. I guess I am out of
luck.

In that case you would likely want to have a friend assist you regardless.
You would need to look through the updspapi.log file to determine which
registry key had had access denied. I would think this task would be
exceedingly difficult in your situation. A computer shop given those
directions should probably be able to sort out the problem in twenty minutes
or so. =\
