This works excellent with the player control shortcuts, but I can't figure
out how to toggle through any other menus. Still worthwhile to get me away
from the keyboard and CRT screen.

No idea but the posts on the blog below that suggested a product
called 'JoyToKey' which the first hit on google had at this site
http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm

I don't know if it's a commercial product or if the download link is
active, but again a search on your <favourite web search engine> can
help you here.

Thanks, I think Xpadder is easier to use than JoyToKey. I'm satisfied with
the limited choices on its menu. Need to view the monitor to do anything
more complex. If I can't figure it out I downgrade my expectations.
