I cannot get the windows media sharing service to start. When I
manually start it I get the following error message: Could not start
the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service service on Local
Computer. Error 1008: An attempt was made to reference a token that
does not exist.

I am on Windows XP, and am attempting to share with our XBox on the
same network. I cannot see the xbox listed as an option to share with
(in media player), I believe it is because the sharing service is not
started.

Any help is appreciated!

On XP ,UPnP is not installed by default and thats what you need for media
sharing
