CCleaner deleted this file from my computer. Now I can't roll back WMP 11
which will not recognise Dvds or cds . WMP didn't give me this headache!

Thank
Ricky

I've read that older versions of CCleaner (rather than the present
version) caused this over enthusiastic side effect, for which there's
no resolution I'm aware of.

Hopefully ZachD might have some ideas - but AFAIK your system's hosed
and needs to be reinstalled to get WMP10 back

Hi Ricky,

I uninstalled WMP11 properly along with its updates and I still get
prompted to install the updates from MS Updates, and the program isn't
on this workstation. There hasn't been any assistance from that either.

Just download WMP11 and install it again. Then uninstall it.

Good luck,

1. Update your CCleaner. Where did you get it from? That's a very very old
version that you should have the provider update from.
2. Contact actual product support who has these files.

3. The player not recognizing DVDs or CDs is more likely to be a sign of
drive or driver failure and is unlikely to be affected by an uninstall or
reinstall. You would want to verify that it was still functional in Device
Manager, Explorer, and potentially a second DVD/CD player.
