When I use Windows Media 11 player to rip a selected CD track to an MP3
file, it seems to want only to do this to a CD drive.

I assume there has to be a path to send the MP3 file to a defined hard drive
path - is there not?

While I am a very experienced computer user, I am new to this area of
activity.

I also find WMP 11 a little kludgy to work with ripping selections, creating
playlists, et al. But that may well be because I'm just not that well versed
in doing these things. Are there any good free "tutorials" around that I
could download for such activities.

I was referred to iTunes. But I don't want to use any of Apple's software.
Apple Quicktime for movies was a real PITA, and I got rid of it years ago.

In Media Player click on Tools...Options...Rip Music tab...after "rip music
to this location", click on the Change button and tell it where to save the
music your ripped.

Thaks for the reply. I must have missed seeing that choice.
