    - Shuffle Options - Feedback to Microsoft I was wondering where I go to give suggestions for Media Player? Would be great if we had more options for shuffling rather than a single button which shuffles through all songs. For example, if a user's library has a large proportion of songs from a single artist, that artist will have a disproportionately large play in any shuffle list, which a user may not want.     - HELP!!! WMP for Vista doesnt play videos anymore, only audio HELP!!! WMP for Vista doesnt play videos anymore. It used to play these files but now it doesnt. It only plays WMV files. When i try to play a non-WMV file, it says at the left bottom corner "codec acquired" but still no video, only audio. What happened? i ddnt tweak anything. Yesterday i could still play those videos, now it doesnt. Please help me. I tried searching the forums here but all i get are links to more columns.     - Cannot Play .ASX files in WMP11 after installing Nero Essentials 7 I am having truble playing audio/video streams from websites using WMP. I have WMP11 and am using Windows XP Home. On oe th sites in question is: http://play.rbn.com/play.asx?url=wcpe/wcpeint/wmdemand/preroll.asf&proto=mms?url=wcpe/wcpeint/wmlive/wcpewin.asf?mswmext=.asx When I click on the link I get the message "Intenet Explorer cannot open teh webpage" Up to a few days ago, the links on the website(s) worked fine. I install a new DVD burner drive and the accompanying software, NERO 7 Essentials. Now site the use .asx files will not play. I don't know it there is a connection between NERO and WMP I have a a laptop without NERO on it and the links work flawlessly. So thatis why I suspect NERO. Has anyone one else experienced this?     - No audio or default sounds, error message Hi all, My computer is suffering from some horrible symptoms at the moment; it cannot even cough a sound. The only sound it can make is the default ringing when the computer starts. The computer crashed while I tried to load a video file on a local news channel (it's WMP plug-in). An error message/solution appeared in bubble at the taskbar, clicked it, and a message glaring at me in blue said, "a program that uses the waveOutWrite" function on a Windows Vista-based computer: "MMSYSERR_NODRIVER". There was a link, which I obviously followed. I followed the link for the 32-bit systems, opened it after installation, and nothing happened. Searched on Microsoft for "936316" and updated my system with the Service Package. Again, I got nothing. Checked, and I have an audio driver installed--Realteck High Definition Audio. Now, can someone kindly help me to at least pinpoint this ghastly disease? Is this a problem with the OS or the computer itself?     - MIDI played by another program? I am trying to view a page that has a MIDI file embedded into it. However, right now Realplayer tries to play the file, and I get some lousy error pop-up. I want to know how to restore the default in IE7 so that WMP11 will play the MIDI file. On my Vista Ultimate desktop, I set WMP so that "it has all its defaults." What else do I need to change?     - WMP 11 has no mini mode in Windows XP 64bit I just bought a new computer (Dell 5400, Xeon E5430, 8Ram) running Windows XP 64bit OS. I downloaded WMP 11 for this OS and it runs fine. The only thing missing is the mini-mode toolbar. I have tried re-installing WMP11 with no effect.     - WM 11 will display every other video in a secondary monitor. When playing AVI, MPG, and MPEG videos WM 11 will play the first video on the external display, desktop picture is displayed on the second video and the third video is displayed on the external display. This happens with all videos added to the play list. If I double click the video that is not displayed it will play on the external display. There is no consecutive display of videos via the WM player. There are three videos cued up in the playlist. 1st is displayed on the external monitor, second video only plays video and the third goes back to video. HELP!!!     - Breaks in shared music when programs open When I try to use WMP 11 on XP to share mp3 files I get breaks in the music whenever my computer opens a program. This does not appear to be a problem with my network or playback device (d-link 320) or indeed with resources on my computer. I can have a dozen programs open and running, including memory and CPU resource hogs like an anti-virus program doing a check, a backup program running, huge files being copied over the network, and the music sharing works just fine. But if one little new program opens, it can be Notepad, or Calculator even, there is inevitable a break in the music being shared. Is there any solution to this problem?     - WMP 11 Library Entries Point to Folders on Removable Disk - disapp I keep my media folders on an external USB hard drive, which I move around from machine to machine. I have added the drive letter and folder to the WMP11 monitored folders and also made it the default destination for ripping CD output. However, after removing the USB drive and reattaching it sometime later, the WMP11 library has "forgotten" about the folders and album information and must re-scan and repopulate the library catalog every time. Isn't there some way to tell the Librarian NOT to discard media entries for removable media that have been removed but will be re-connected in the future?     - WMP11 fails to open MP332 Hi all... Pleasant evening to you... Recently, I purchased a new portable media device, and downloaded two audiobooks. I was able to play them both in my ZEN as well as on my Base Con' with WMP11... To recoupe some memory, I decided to burn them to CD, and delete them from my hard drive. Then - upon researching to see if I had indeed orchestrated a workable backup archive, I cannot get WMP11 to open the files. They do show up on the E: drive as being there, in MP332 format, but I can't get them to open with WMP11 or Alsong. If anyone has any ideas, in an EZ to follow format, please shoot me a line and lend a hand. It's not life threatening, or anything dire, as I still have them in my ZEN, just curious as to what happened, and I don't want to make a disaster of a mistake NEXT time! Thanx in advance.     - Choppy Play of MP3s I am getting very frustrated with WMP 11. Playback of any of my MP3 files (and I have thousands) includes a gap, like a skip on cds or old LPs, at least 2 per minute. I have increased the Network Buffering setting from 5 to 40 seconds without any change in the problem. This is the only player that performs like this, and I also use Rhapsody and ITunes. I am running Vista Ultimate, 4GB of RAM, and 3.00 GHZ dual core CPU. If anyone else has had this problem, and fixed it, let me know.     - Library I have a Dell Inspirion 700M, running Windows XP. I have had Windows Media Player 11 installed and working perfectly on my computer for a while. Recently, I installed a Windows Update and my entire Media Player library was deleted, and now I can't add anything back to it. When I select the folders I want Media Player to monitor, it just deletes the folders out as if I never selected them.     - cd burner I tried to burn a cd, but it says to connect a cd burner. I have the windows media player with the cd burner n all, but it won't burn..     - WMP 11 Anyone get this? Another Media Player question. Installed a new HD. Installed XP Home, no problem. Tried installing Media Player 11. It wouldn't install, so i tried reverting to MP 10. It says MP 10 isn't compatible with 'this version of Windows'. My Windows update automatically installed service pack 3 and apparently MP 10 is not compatible with the new service pack. Tried installing MP11 again, and again. It takes literally hours to install and at the end it says MP 11 couldn't be installed because of an error. It gives me error code 80070001. When tried finding out what it is on the Microsoft website I come up with nothing. Right now I'm using MP9 but I don't like the way it's laid out, so I'd really like MP10 or MP11.     - Choppy Playback and Stuttering I am currently using a Compaq Presario C700 series notebook with Vista Home Premium on it. For whatever odd reason, whenever I try and play some songs, (all songs are .mp3) it stutters and jumps around almost as if it was a CD that had a scratch and was skipping. I have looked around but have haven't seen anyone else with this problem, except for the thing with the Dells, but that doesn't help me much. I'm running WMP 11. The strangest thing is that it only has this problem on some songs, and it seems to switch songs, sometimes it is one, and then if I go to play it at another time, it seems to be alright.     - Programatically adding WindowsMediaPlayer gui Hi, I've tried adding a windows media player hook to a WPF window by adding the Windows Media Player com component to the toolbox, however no new entries were added to the toolbox. I am now trying to perform the same action programatically. I have made a WindowsMediaPlayer object which plays music and video fine, however I don't know how to get the control that actually displays the interface content (i.e. the video or visualisation window).     - open mulitple MP3 simultaneously When I select multiple media-files in a Windows Explorer, and press the enter button, WMP only opens one of the files, while it should create a new playlist with all selected files.     - WMP 11 won't play video links in I.E 7. Asks if I want to save fil In I.E. 7, when clicking a link that should start media player and play an mpeg video clip it brings a Download window and asks if I want to save the file. There is also a message saying "the file you are downloading cannot be opened by the default program, it is either corrupted or an incorrect file type". If I save the file WMP won't play it either reporting error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help." This says "You've encountered error message C00D11B1" I've checked all the items on this with no joy. The saved file can be played with Winamp or GOM player ok.     - Windows Media Player Sharing problem with Vista I have problems with getting my WMP to share. It alsways comes up with the same problem "Media sharing bas been turned off because a required Windows setting or component has changed.....".     - Problem with Service Pack 3 Hi, umm I just recently had to a wipe of my hard drive on my computer, someone installed service pack 3 for me on the computer, I used to have windows media player 11, but now i have 10, for some odd reason when i try to install windows media player 11, there is an error message saying that my operating system is unsupported, i have windows XP Media center edition, and i really want windows media player 11 back, how can i install it???     - WMP Vista Ultimate (64bit) Codec problem!!!!!???? I am unable to play any music that is either shared in my network or recorded onto my hard drive by WMP11 in Vista Ultimate. I can see all the music loaded into my library or on my C drive, I can access the root files but it keeps telling me this message Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. Now, I know this is not the problem that the file type is incorrect because there are 6 other computers able to access the 1 TB hard drive where all the music files are saved in WMA at a VBR 320mbps. The music recorded on my computer's hard drive is coded by WMP11 so it cannot be in the wrong format. All the other computers, XP, XP professional, Vista Basic and Vista Home Premium are able to play any file on this remote (LAN) hard drive, this Ultimate Vista unit won't. The computer is an HP Pavillion Elite D5000T running Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 9550 @ 2.83 GHz with 8GB of DDR2-800MHz Dual Channel RAM with a 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT Video Card. 64 Bit system. It has 1 TB 7200 RPM drive so the computer is not lacking processing power. Can anyone tell me why the Media Player will not play the files? I have already contacted the HP and they logged into the computer and cannot figure out why this is happening. I cannot try to uninstall the program and reinstall because i do not have it and it is not on the Microsoft Website as a standalone. None of the Vista updates are relevant to this version as i tried those updates but the computer refused them as incompatible.
