I want to Reinstall WMP, though when I run the Installer it says I already
have the Current Version.

Can I Invoke the "Reinstall All Mode" to just tell it to reinstall
everything?

I'm missing the Network Media Sharing Service.

Thanks,
Scott<-

Hi Scott,

If you get it working, great. Look in Add/Remove Programs to see if
there is a Change button in WMP11, or if the Remove offers a Repair
option (don't know because I uninstalled it).

If you can't, try TVersity. It made my configuration with a PS3 a piece
of cake compared to what WMP11 couldn't do.

I've installed TVersity, though its not the solution for my End Result. (-;

I've left out quite a bit of what I'm trying to do as it mucky the waters.

I want to have My Media Center Extender, which connects and sees media on my
Vista Machine also See Media on my Windows 2008 Server.

TVersity Didn't seem to be the right Solution for this.

Thanks,
Scott<-

I've not got or tried server 2008 here yet. However it sounds like
you're just using it as a file server (would Home Server, or a Linux
NAS be a better choice ?). You might need to take a look at the media
player sharing FAQ under the section "Why can't I play files that are
shared by one computer but located on different computer?

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/sharing.mspx#q20_17

It's not completely obvious that your sharing isn't working, and I
guess a possibility of running befor walking might be in play <g>

HTH
