The right-click commands for WMP have both Play and Open, but they do
the same thing, so why both?

Today's Jeopardy category is "Strange decisions Microsoft made back in 1996,
and the strange ways you still run into those decisions today."

I could be wrong about 1996, but it stems from about then. Clearly Play is
Play, but --- what is Open as an executable verb? If I Open the Word
document, I'm viewing it. If I Open a music file --- ?!?
