Media player 11 on Vista

The media player has just completely stopped working for no apparent reason.
I just keep being diverted to the microsoft website with the code C00D11B1.
Device drivers are all up to date and I'm just trying to play a CD that I put
in the drive which has always worked previously.
Any suggestions please?

wish I could help, but I'm having exactly the same problem and haven't found

Brian - until I find a solution I have downloaded 'Realplayer' for free and
have been able to play CD's and rip & burn the items my daughter needed for
school.
