I've installed the latest version of WMP, but the interface still only shows
the most rudimentary GUI: I see File, View, Play, Tools, Help in the toolbar
and have no options for viewing playlists, libraries, etc - nothing like the
viewer shown online or even when I go to my local help library. When I
select "about WMP", it indicates that I have the latest version. Is there
some basic thing i need to do?

Is this a home or a work computer?
Do you have a screenshot showing what this looks like?

It's my work computer - which makes me think there might be an old dll
somewhere, but I don't know how to figure out which one it is. I can
certainly give you a screen shot, but I'm not sure how to send it to you - I
don't see an option to attach files and i wasn't able to paste the image in
this window. What's the best way to get it to you? Thanks!

You can also put screenshots on flickr or img... shack or wherever those
sites are. =)

If it's a work computer, it's possible that your system administrator has
deliberately locked down access to the player...

It turns out there is a policy in place at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaPlayer\SetAndLockSkin

Thanks for your help!
