I had all my WMP music working nicely in its library, when I suddenly had a
corrupted Windows registry, caused by a virus.
When Windows XP was restored and upgraded back to SP2 again, I had to reload
all my Windows programs, including WMP 11.
How do I point this one to my old WMP library and all of the edited tunes
{titles, artists, genres, etc.} I had there?
{I know this must be covered somewhere in the WMP newsgroups, but I've yet
to see it!}

All that data should be stored in the files themselves, so your new library
should be reflective of that edited data. Is it not?

Or you could try to restore the WMDB file from your profile on the old
system.

N...my newly-loaded WMP 11 only has the initial sample music, and I can't
seem to find an option to import my old wmdb file {if that's what it's
called? and wherever that's located?}.

In Options > library > Monitor folders
check if WMP monitors the folder where your music is located.

As it only shows the samples, WMP simply doesn't see your music files

I did see the option to add where my MP3's are, but was reluctant to add
this, as it's not in the WMP database format that I had created. I did so,
and it 'pulled' them all in properly. So THANKS! I did, though, find a dozen
or so songs that show 'unknown', either in the artist or genre or whatever
field, and also won't play.
Probably errors on my part, so I tried fixing them, but ended up deleting
them.
All's better, but still not 100% like the old WMP database I had.
But I can live with it!
Appreciated.
