I have consulted "Hauppauge" and follow their direction to install the right
driver.
when I use their "Wintv" application, I am able to view my TV station via
Cable TV.

when using "Vista MCE" at the tuner setup, I keep getting an error that "No
tuner" are found!

I was also told that (it seems like a war bettween Microsoft & Hauppauge)
that they are throwing the ball back'n'forth...

any help would be appreciated.
btw: I'm not a newbie with a PC !

MC will only recognize the NTSC analog cable/antenna connection and/or the
ATSC digital antenna tuner connection on the on the 1600 card. It will not
recognize any clear QAM digital cable signals.

I know that one!

I'm trying to get it to see the analog cable tv...
and won't do it.

prior Vista I had no proble in MCE 2005 to do that.
that was the only reason I bought Vista... Hoping for better...
Yea right... Did I ever get Sc****d....
By Microsoft on that one.

Seriously thinking of going back to XP (don't care if I lost my money on
Vista)

and STILL the WINTV-HVR-1600 Cannot be seen by Vista MCE....
But able to watch Analog TV in WinTV?????????????????????
(I'm not trying to detect & view ATSC or QAM signal)

Follow all the Direction from Hauppauge Tech support.
they are blaming Microsoft. Go Figure...

What's up with this?

Yes... I can Play DVD the mpeg2 decoder is fine.
and I was on the phone with Hauppauge again...
and re-did all the step to install and I did not forget any install step.
(I even made sure: I did not install any devices: like printer, scanner
Ect... just to eliminate any unwated conflic.

So I guess the Problem is on Microsoft's back now...

I also did this step:

AFAIK you have not removed the card during during any of your
reconfiguration attempts
So I recommend that you go into device manager and uninstall the card if it
shows up and then shutdown your system remove the card and reboot.
Then shutdown again and put the card back in boot and Vista may find your
proper card driver

Can you record and playback or time shift an analog program using WinTV?

Have you tried different settings for setting up TV such as saying you are
using an antenna instead of cable or using a different postal code from a
nearby large city. You might also try the ATSC tuner even if it is not
connected.
What is the last step that works before you get the No Tuner Found message?
