I get the following error message when trying to play a DVD using Windows
Media Player:

The exception Illegal Instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
(0xc000001d) occured in the application at location 0x1d1c4ba5.

How do I fix this?

Have you tried any alternative media player?

Make sure you have compatible DVD decoder.

If you have any corupt decoder then You may try K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool
-it scans for broken filters and remove them and followed by that you
install new decoder.
