i found a solution which will probably help most of the people here as i
think even though peoples probs are slightly different, they are the same, it
comes from the 64 bit vista, there are actually 2 instals of all your midea
players,and each vid file actually selects which version to use,this is what
casuse the problem, as even though you think you have the codec you need it
could be the 32 bit version, but your vid file may have opened the 64 bit
player, and that codec location would probably be empty, there is a simple
fix, just search google or yahoo for vista codec pack 4.5.2 (for the 32 bit
version) and then search for vista codec x64 components 1.3.3 (if you have a
64 bit machine) these will fix just about any codec problem in vista (the
