I just bought a 26 inch LCD HD TV and want to have the sound go threw my
computer speakers. And also would like to record and that on my computer. My TV
has DVI,VGA and HDMI hook up .What is the best connection or theres no
difference. I have a Acer computer duel core with hook up for surround
sound. But have no TV card. Also if I would buy another vedio card should I get
one with the hook ups for HDMI or its not really no need. What connection
would I need to get the sound coming from my computer speakers? And where
would it hook up on my TV and computer?Hope you can help I have a small room
and this is the way I have to do it.

What does your computer user guide and/or Google tell you?
You did read the user guide and/or Googled it before you posted, right?

You'll need a TV tuner card in the computer if you want to capture TV video.
The TV set is only a receiver and cannot output anything to the computer.
The video connections on the TV are all inputs from the computer video card.
If the TV has connectors for external speakers or a theatre sound system you
may be able to plug that into your PC audio line/digital inputs, but there's
no way to get video from the set.

A TV card could be standard resolution or HDTV or a hybrid of both so shop
carefully to get what you want. As far as upgrading your video card for the
best possible output type (many have multiple outputs on the card BTW but
cabling is still an extra expense) check the TV specifications to see what
resolution settings are available on which of its input types. The HDTV
resolutions might only be available if you connect it to the computer using
an HDMI cable for example. Depends how the manufacturer designed it to
operate.
