I'm getting "Some updates were not installed" AT this point I've racked up
35 updates that aren't installing. Are there any hot fixes or ways to get
update to recognize my valid genuine version of windows. (I recently had a
computer failure...so had to rebuild and did a repair install of my windows
xp pro program. Perhaps it's not recognizing I am licensed?) Please advise
Thank you.

Start>Run>type in:msconfig>OK

Click on Startup tab and if you find startup reference of WMP there then
just uncheck the tick against that.

No.

If it's not in the startup list then make sure that your system is
clean.Sometimes due to trojan infection it may happen.

If you still face problems then you might try posting this on a Media
Player newsgroup.
