Hello. I just installed a new HP printer on my computer and I am now seeing a
"Windows Installer" dialogue box pop up on the screen when I start up the
computer. I have nothing to install that I know of. I have to keep hitting
"cancel" till the box goes away. And I am also getting a Windows Installer
Box pop up to install a program called Roxio which is already on my computer,
this happens when I double click an incon on my desktop to start up another
program. So these boxes are popping up and I don't know why, or how to get
rid of them. Anyone help?

What model printer, and is it an All-in-one, like
printer/scanner/fax/copier. Sometimes after an initial installation, there
are other components that need to be installed but weren't visible to
Windows until the base install was done.

Have you tried just letting it continue the installation?

John

Have you tried uninstalling the HP all-in-one software completely, reboot
the computer then run the setup again.

Hi CSM! , I tried reinstalling the printer but now it won't install due to
the windows installer problem. I am really at a lost. I tried windows
cleanup utility but that does not work either,. I have tried installing the
Windows service pak 3 but that does not work either.
Everything was fine until I loaded this new HP printer.

To find what version of the Windows Installer you have on your computer
Start > Run Type Msiexec, OK

If you do not have version 3 or later, you can install the window installer
separately.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

I would download and install the installer anyway. Might cleanup what
problems you now have.

Then you have the latest version of Windows installer.
I have not idea what might be wrong with your HP print install software.

You can download an install the latest software for the C4250 all-in-one
from HP.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3300221&lang=en&

You can also order the CD.

I don't understand.
Did you click on the Windows XP link? (If you have Window XP Media Center)?

This is the page you get from the Windows XP link.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3300221&dlc=en

There is several choices for software to download, You double click the file
you have downloaded, and the Driver install will start.

You can order the CD ROM and install from the CD.
